Developing and Implementation of Contactless Stationary Charging System for Electric Vehicles Rajamoni Pavan Kumar, Monala Shreya, Rajagopal Reddy, Karuppiah Natarajan, Patil Mounica, Anandakumar Annavarapu 3rd International Conference on Automation Computing and Renewable Systems Icacrs 2024 Proceedings, 2024 Wireless charging for electric vehicles eliminates the need of charging cables and connectors, making the process of charging easy, more convenient and user-friendly. It provides much safer and more efficient way of energy transfer by reducing the wear and tear of physical connectors. Additionally, it also provides automatic charging, which is useful particularly for autonomous vehicles. The proposed model mainly consists of two sections. They are namely, transmitting section and receiving section. The AC alternating current from main power supply is firstly converted to DC and DC converted to AC at primary coil or TX coil and the AC power is received at the RX coil and AC power is converted to DC at receiving coil to charge the battery. The main aim of this topology is to design a Wireless Power Transmission of electric vehicle without wasting the power. This method of charging uses mutual inductance principle as it consists of TX coil and RX coil which are used for charging, controller for monitoring the input and output voltages, a display for showing the percentage of charging and a buzzer for alarm indication when charging is low and when charging is full. It also uses rectifier, inverter and converters. Electric vehicles (EVs) offer numerous advantages over traditional fuel-powered vehicles such as regenerative braking, which enhances energy efficiency. With increasing availability of renewable energy sources, EVs have the potential to become even more sustainable.
Coordinated Power Management for Speed Control of BLDC Motor Powered by wind-Battery-PV for water Pumping Applications Hamsa Nimer, Hashem Al-Mattarneh, Jithin Kumar IJ, Rahat Ullah Khan, Abdul-qader S. Abu Al Foul, M. Mahima, B. Rajagopal Reddy 2024 International Conference on Sustainable Power and Energy Icspe 2024, 2024 The provision of water through underground sources using pumps is essential for sustaining human life. water pumping systems driven by electrical motor that Powered by standalone hybrid renewable energy sources are becoming famous worldwide due to their special features and applications. In order to reduce consumption from utility grid, the hybrid standalone Power supply system must be designed in a proper way to make a continuous water supply to consumers. Solar Photovoltaic systems (SPSs) and wind Power Systems (/PSs) are the two most abundant sources of renewable energy globally. Depending exclusively on the integration of SPS and wPS may not ensure a consistent energy supply, given their reliance on natural elements and susceptibility to variables like solar irradiance at night or overcast conditions. In order to tackle this problem, incorporating batteries can improve the system's dependability and ensure a consistent Power source for the motor that can operate the water pump. Many places including apartments, over head tanks etc facilitating with plenty of free space that areas can accommodate the installation of hybrid SPS, batteries and wPS. Nevertheless, a successful operation necessitates a well-coordinated energy management system involving the SPS, wPS, battery, motor, and pump. The paper suggests the implementation of a centralized energy management system of proposed water pumping system. To obtain effective operation, a Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM) is considered and designed an efficient control methodology in this paper. Each Power production units is equipped with their corresponding maximum Power point tracker (MPPT) circuits to obtain highest efficiency. A shared dc-link is created by interconnecting all MPPTs and the battery bank using a DC bidirectional circuit. The suggested approach has been confirmed through thorough results acquired from HIL experiments carried out utilizing OPAL-RT units.
Power Quality Enhancement in Wind-Hydro Based Hybrid Renewable Energy System by Interlocking of UPQC Riaz K. Israni, Renu Yadav, Rahul Singh, B. Rajagopal Reddy 2023 3rd International Conference on Energy Power and Electrical Engineering Epee 2023, 2023 In this article, the quality of electrical power is monitored in a hybrid Renewable Distributed Generation System (h-RDGS). Moreover, wind and hydro-electric based h-RDGS are used for interlink of variable non-linear load. Power quality (PQ) of the proposed wind-hydro system is degraded due to its linkage with non-linear load. To overcome this issue, Custom Power Devices (CPDs) are used. This article includes the improvement of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) in voltage and current waveform in h-RDGS. And that is done with the help of CPD. Furthermore, the voltage stability and transient stability during fault conditions may also enhance by the same device. In wind-hydro-electric system, the input energies are variable and the output non-linear load is also fluctuating continuously. Hence, the entire proposed h-RDGS is the same as the actual working system used in micro-grid. The MATLAB/SIMULINK software is preferred in the proposed h-RDGS and the modeling part of this system is also included to improve the transparences of the work.

A case study on the assessment of program quality through co-po mapping and its attainment B. Rajagopal Reddy, Natarajan Karuppiah, Md. Asif, S. Ravivarman Journal of Engineering Education Transformations, 2021 : In recent years, accreditation of National Board of Accreditation has become mandatory for all the Autonomous colleges and Universities. NBA stresses on Outcome Based Education to improve the quality of education. It has formulated twelve graduate attributes to measure the quality of the program that a graduate has to acquire from any college/university during his four years of under graduation. The success of any program depends on the attainment of course outcomes and program outcomes. But there is a lack of understanding among the Engineering faculties in CO-PO attainment calculations. This study explores the significance of proper CO-PO mapping and its attainment calculation. CO-PO mapping and its attainment calculations are an integral part of OBE and it helps in continuous quality improvement, which serves as a feedback for OBE loop. CQI is instrumental in identifying any setbacks in Teaching Learning Process and additional solutions are figured out to improve the delivery of the course. In this study, different approaches are suggested to calculate the attainment of COs of the course and POs, PSOs of the program. Results and discussions are done on the attainment of COs of different courses and suggestions for the courses which fail to attain the target has been discussed. A sample of CO-PO attainment calculation for the course Basic Electrical Engineering offered for BTech I Year students has been discussed. Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet has been used for computation purpose.
Capacity fade modeling of li-ion battery using evolutionary algorithm Tamilselvi S, Karuppiah N, Rajagopal Reddy B E3s Web of Conferences, 2019 Renewable sources are seasonal and cannot be considered as available energy source as their generation varies with time. The insufficient forecasting techniques lead to thought of storage of energy. Even though many techniques of energy storage are available, batteries play a vital role as the time taken to start delivering the stored energy is very less. The life period of the battery depends upon the charging and discharging characteristics which in turn depend on the internal parameters such as life period, charge rate, discharge rate of the battery. The energy stored in the battery can be calculated by finding these parameters. In this paper these parameters are estimated for a Sony lithium ion battery by evolutionary algorithm CMA-ES under different Charging and discharging rates. As the batteries are charged and discharged there is capacity loss in the battery. This loss is modelled by modified Arrhenius equation on practical conditions. Capacity loss of the sample battery is modelled for five different cycles starting from 50th cycle to 100th cycle in an interval of 10 cycles. The results are validated with those of manufacturer catalogue. The optimized battery capacity loss are found to coincide with the measured values.
Nonlinear System Identification and Control: Rop Scheme and Neural Networks Reddy B Raja Genal Proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Control Systems Iciccs 2018, 2018 In this paper an attempt is made to control nonlinear system where parameter are unknown. A straight forward scheme called ROP (Recursive Orthogonal Projection) Scheme has been used for parameter identification and system control of nonlinear output feedback system [4]. Two phase strategy is used (i) Parameter Identification phase (ii) system Control Phase. The control algorithm is implemented after parameter information is found. In later part of this paper., a Neural Network model of the unknown nonlinear system from input-output data has been developed and compared results with the ROP scheme. The relative merits and demerits of ROP and NN are discussed.
