Evaluation of Impact of Success Factors of Supply Chain Strategy and Flexibility on Supply Chain Performance Amit Chandak, Sumit Chandak, Avadhesh Dalpati Pakistan Journal of Statistics and Operation Research, 2021 Due to rapid globalization, an introduction of Goods and Services Taxes (GST), ban on BS-III vehicles, and rapid technological advancement creates new dimensions for the automobile industry in India especially for those who come in the category of small and medium enterprise (SMEs).In the current changing scenario victorious execution of supply chain management (SCM) practices can provide competitive leverage to Automobile manufacturers over their rivals particularly those who are poorly implemented supply chain management practices. This paper takes two main SCM practices, i.e. supply chain flexibility (SCF) and supply chain strategy (SCS).Against this background, this paper acknowledged 5 success factors (SFs) for supply chain flexibility and 3 success factors (SFs) for supply chain strategy for proper implementation of SCM practices in the Automobile industry, and studied their impact on three factors of supply chain performance (SCP), and thereby on firms performance. The top management of any industry is focused on their core strength with commitment, long-term vision and provides resources for supply chain, and thereby developing effective and efficient SCS emerged as the most significant SFs. To measure the impact on supply chain performance, the author carefully measures different SFs of SCS related to customer-oriented strategy, innovation strategy and agile supply chain strategy on cost performance, logistics performance and customer satisfaction performance. Similarly to access the impact on supply chain performance, carefully measure different SFs of SCF on cost performance, logistics performance and customer satisfaction performance. Results are analyzed by testing research propositions using standard statistical tools.
Development of a framework to improve supply chain performance through e-business and sustainability enablers: An emerging economy perspective Sumit Chandak, Neeraj Kumar Management of Environmental Quality an International Journal, 2020 PurposeThe main aim of the study is to develop a structural framework that includes e-business processes and sustainability-oriented enablers to improve supply chain performance.Design/methodology/approachTo improve supply chain performance, the present study conducts a detailed literature review to explore the key enablers based on e-business processes and sustainability aspects of various recognized databases. An automotive case organization is chosen to conduct a case study for developing the structural framework. The structural framework is developed by adopting an interpretive structural modeling approach. Furthermore, the fuzzy-MICMAC approach is applied to compute the driving and the dependence power of each selected enabler.FindingsThis study develops a structural framework that indicates the improved supply chain performance is achieved by “development of supply chain web system,” “strong customer relationship management,” and “enhancement in control over cost quality and sustainability” as the most critical enablers.Research limitations/implicationsThe enablers for the development of framework are obtained through the inputs of an expert panel. However, the researchers may conduct large scale surveys to strengthen the input components of the framework.Originality/valueThis is one of the unique studies that list down a set of 27 most critical e-business processes and sustainability based enablers to improve supply chain performance.
Impact of e-business processes and information technology tools on supply chain performance of Indian Automobile Industries International Journal of Scientific and Technology Research, 2019
E-Business processes and its influence on supply chain performance: in the context of indian automobile industries Sumit Chandak, Neeraj Kumar International Journal of Recent Technology and Engineering, 2019 Supply chain encompasses the organized structure of institutions and organizations the purpose of which is to create products or provide services, raw material, work in progress material, and finally finished product to end users. This paper represents influence of e-business processes in improving performance of supply chain (SC) in context of Indian automobile Companies. This paper will help automobile companies to implement E-Business Processes to achieve better SC performance. This research tries to investigate impact of E-Business Processes on performance of SC of Indian automobile industries. In order to achieve this objective independent variable inventory management, logistics performance and information flow are tested over cost reduction and strategic gain as dependent variable. This study investigate that sample automobile companies attentive towards e-business processes, the sample automobile companies exercise e-business processes in operation of their supply chain and results shows that their supply chain is influence by development of e-business processes (inventory management, logistics performance and information flow). This research shows that practice of e-business processes is very important to achieve strategic gain and to cut of overall supply chain cost, which improves SC performance in context of Indian automobile Companies.
