FUTURE PROJECTS

Empowerment of Women through Self Help groups: A Comparative Study in India and Cambodia

Many eminent anthropologists as well as Sociologists studied about how female sex is coming up as an independent human sect Global wise undergoing change from beginning of humanity to the present day in various socio-economic, cultural, political and developmental fields. However, there are very few studies related to the Women Self Help Groups, micro-finance and livelihoods in rural and urban areas of Cambodia and India comparatives studies. So the aim of the project is to conduct research and evaluate the socio-cultural economic profile of women SHGs of Andhra Pradesh in India and Siem Reap and Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The present study focus its attention on the formation and strengths of the women SHGs in the creation of capital and adoption of new livelihoods for income generation, to examine the role of Government and Non-Government agencies, Banks and MFIs in the implementation of income generation programmes among the women SHGs, and impact of SHGs, Microfinance, changing liveli

Empowerment of Women- in Andhra Pradesh: Study on Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Microfinance

Many eminent anthropologists as well as Sociologists studied about how female is coming up in India and self-help group (SHGs) movement has emerged as the world’s largest and most successful network of community based organization (CBOs). Especially Andhra Pradesh state in India is in fast forward regarding SHGs and Micro finance through various programs like Jawahar Rozgar Yojana (JRY), Development of women and Children in Rural Area (DWCRA), Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP), Employment Assurance Scheme (EAS), Swaranajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), sponsored by Central Government and ‘Velugu’. Andhra Pradesh is in the forefront of SHG movement in India with a share of 18% of Self Help Groups (SHGs) and 23.37 of SHG bank linkages with 39.47% loan amount in the country. There are 1,161 34,763 SHG members in 10,54,647 SHG organized in to 39,584 Village Organization (VOs) and 1098 Mandal Samakhyas (MSs).
