Augmenting Humanity Industry 5 0 and the Rise of Human Machine Collaboration, 2025
The innovative and fast advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing industries globally. The implementation of AI in operations and changes has occurred translating to great opportunities in enhancing efficiency, expanding understanding of the decision-making process, and creating much-needed new and innovative goods and services. However, this progress comes with societal issues that need to be well thought out and solved. Concerning business affairs, some obstacles imply the impact of AI on employment, concerns regarding the protection of privacy and data, the issue of Legal Equality regarding AI technologies, and making sure that AI systems maintain equality. Regarding AI in enterprises for ethics and societal issues, there are four subtopics for this section; these are the questions it answers: the effect of AI on workers, privacy and security issues as a result of data-centricity, the issue of equity in the availability of AI, and the issue of bias and fairness in AI systems. This chapter also includes a section that describes the considerations of these issues and offers a piece of advice for business executives to think about. Finally, a brief summary for the audience that outlines the challenges that businesses face as AI continues to evolve is presented. In addition, the results have implications for managers and practical suggestions.

  • Servant leadership and employee creativity in Islamic context: role of employee empowerment and knowledge sharing
Saad Alasmari, Anees Janee Ali, Jamshed Khalid, Mi Chuanmin, Muhammad Shahid Rasheed
International Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Finance and Management, 2025
Purpose In today’s volatile global marketplace, cultivating human capital via efficient leadership has become an indispensable requisite for organizational growth. This study aims to examine how servant leadership affects employee creativity through employee empowerment. Moreover, this study examines the moderating effect of knowledge sharing in the relationship between employee empowerment and employee creativity. Design/methodology/approach Quantitative data were processed using Smart PLS-SEM to test the hypothesis. Survey data for this study were obtained from 368 employees working in two Islamic holy sites: the Masjid al-Haram and the Masjid an-Nabawi. Findings A positive correlation is found between employee empowerment and employee creativity. In addition, employee empowerment mediates the relationship between servant leadership and employee creativity. Lastly, knowledge sharing moderates the effect of employee empowerment on employee creativity. Practical implications The findings shed light on the need for servant leadership in service sector organizations. The findings imply that employee creativity in religious firms can be promoted by servant leadership. The results of this study can assist managers in developing a deeper understanding of contextual factors such as employee empowerment and knowledge sharing while formulating policies and development plans. Originality/value The impact of servant leadership in fostering creativity within religious organizations has not been investigated sufficiently. This study expands the literature by offering a thorough understanding of the contextual factors influencing employee creativity in religious organizations such as the mediating role of employee empowerment and the moderating role of knowledge sharing.
  • The employability edge: unleashing graduate potential through quality university experiences and psychological capital
Jamshed Khalid, Mi Chuanmin, Muhammad Haroon Rasheed, Muhammad Umair Ashraf
Journal of Further and Higher Education, 2025
Recent technological advancements have further fuelled the ever-evolving dynamics of future employability. This enhanced the avenue of graduate employability to the forefront of university education across the globe. Universities are striving to provide and equip graduates with capital that complements their sense of employability. This is more particular in a struggling economy like Pakistan, where half a million graduates enter the workforce annually. This study was designed to investigate how psychological capital (PsyCap) and study crafting influence business students’ quality of university life (QoUL) and perceived employability. The study utilised an adapted instrument across a sample of 638 business undergraduates and employed structural equation modelling (SEM) for estimating measurement and path models. The results revealed that higher PsyCap directly improves QoUL. Critically, students who actively crafted their tasks experienced an even stronger positive impact of PsyCap on their university experience. These findings highlight the importance of fostering both psychological capital and study crafting skills within universities to enhance QoUL and perceived employability in the face of increasing academic demands. The findings of the study offer actionable insights for higher education institutions seeking to improve students’ experiences, particularly in a thriving economy and populous hub like Pakistan. The model offers avenues for further research on imperative predictors of students’ perceived employability.
  • Towards an inclusive and equitable future: transformation of digital learning design in the digital era
Jamshed Khalid, Mi Chuanmin, Muhammad Shahid Rasheed, Ismail Kamdar
    Information Technology and People, 2025
Purpose This study aims to investigate emerging technologies and their impact on establishing a digital campus in academic institutions. It seeks to understand the barriers and opportunities associated with digitalization in education and propose an inclusive digital learning framework for academicians. Design/methodology/approach Online-focused group discussions (O-FGDs) were conducted with education experts to gain insights into the phenomena of digital learning. The discussions explored the potential barriers to digitalization and strategies for successful implementation. Additionally, Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Situation analysis was performed to select the most significant factors among those reported by the respondents. Findings The study revealed that digitalization is a crucial factor in the establishment of a digital campus. However, cultural diversity and multilingualism were identified as having the lowest relative closeness. The O-FGDs highlighted the need for inclusive digital learning frameworks that consider the impacting factors to ensure equitable implementation of digital strategies. Originality/value This study contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive understanding of emerging technologies and their implications for academic institutions. It offers a practical framework for implementing inclusive digital strategies that address the challenges and opportunities associated with digitalization in education.
