He is presently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, Dharma Samaj College, Aligarh (affiliated to Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh, U.P.). Dr. Verma obtained his higher education from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow with a first-class master's in Defence Studies. He has worked as a Project Fellow for three years in a Major Research Project titled: "Naxalism: A Challenge to Internal Security (Special Study of Sonbhadra (U.P.) District)" sponsored by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. He completed his thesis on "India's Defense Technology: With Special Reference to Security" from the University of Lucknow, Lucknow and obtained Ph.D. degree. He has completed his Post Doctorate on “Role of Paramilitary forces in solving Naxal problem of Uttar Pradesh” by receiving Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Post Doctoral Fellowship from University Grants Commission, New Delhi. You have authored two books and edited seven books.
