Jamilur R. Ansari
Dr. J. R. Ansari is an accomplished materials scientist specializing in advanced polymer-based nanocomposites for sustainable food packaging. His research integrates 0D and 2D nanomaterials, including quantum dots, metal nanoparticles, and MoS₂, to enhance thermal stability, barrier performance, UV protection, and antimicrobial properties. He focuses on developing scalable, eco-friendly materials that improve food safety and shelf life while reducing reliance on synthetic preservatives. With strong expertise in interdisciplinary research, he has mentored numerous Master’s and Ph.D. students, contributing to high-impact publications. His work bridges fundamental science and real-world applications, advancing next-generation intelligent packaging solutions.

FUTURE PROJECTS

Synthesis and characterization of OD-2D, MOF nanocomposites for applications in the fields of sensing, photocatalysis, and food packaging

This study presents the synthesis and characterization of 0D–2D, MOF nanocomposites for multifunctional applications in sensing, photocatalysis, and food packaging. The nanocomposites were prepared via a controlled synthesis approach, enabling effective integration of 0D nanoparticles with 2D MOF nanosheets, resulting in enhanced surface area and improved interfacial interactions. Detailed structural and physicochemical characterization confirmed the successful formation of stable hybrid architectures. The developed nanocomposites exhibited excellent sensing performance with high sensitivity and selectivity, attributed to efficient charge transfer and abundant active sites. In photocatalytic applications, they demonstrated enhanced degradation of organic pollutants under light irradiation due to reduced electron–hole recombination. Additionally, their incorporation into food packaging materials showed promising antimicrobial activity and improved barrier properties.
