  • 5-phase Multilevel Inverter for EV Application
Challa Venkatesh, Joru Sirichandana, Kulla Harish Kumar, Veligeti Sravan Kumar, Sale Aravind
2023 IEEE 20th India Council International Conference Indicon 2023, 2023
The aim of this paper is to reduce the THD in a 5-phase multilevel neutral point clamped inverter and to improve the performance of the 5-phase induction motor used in EV applications. Voltage control of this 5-phase multilevel inverter is done using three different multicarrier PWM techniques (PD, POD, APOD). Simulation analysis is performed using Simulink with R, RL loads connected to the multilevel inverter and obtain load voltage, current waveforms, and THD analysis. This paper implements a better technique for electric vehicle control using a 5-phase induction motor drive with a multilevel inverter system and performance analysis of speed, torque, and stator currents using Matlab-simulink software. The results show that the PD modulation technique provides the lowest THD performance for the system and the motor attains a fast steady state.

Colorectal cancer is a form of cancer that has its incidence all over the globe. It starts in the colon as a group of cells growing on the inner wall; these are called polyps. Not all polyps are cancerous, but they should be identified and removed. The detection of polyps during colonoscopy may be susceptible to human errors. Missed polyps due to human errors can lead to colorectal cancer. Advancements in the field of artificial intelligence brought revolutionary changes in several fields. A computerized algorithm that guides doctors can be a better option for reducing human error. For this purpose we have implemented a tracking by detection model which helps doctors during screening process. For detection of polyps we have trained our detection algorithm using YOLO-v4. For training we have used 1705 polyp images taken from various databases. For tracking polyps we have implemented DeepSORT algorithm. To evaluate the model, we have tested it on 2 colonoscopy videos acquired from hospitals. Performance of the model on these two videos is evaluated by computing two metrics Multiple Object Tracking Accuracy(MOTA) and Multiple Object Tracking Precision(MOTP). Our model is able to track polyps and promising results were obtained.

    E3s Web of Conferences, 2021
In the forthcoming gap, throughout the world storage systems will carry the leading role, the reason is of providing energy in distant places. The utilization of storage elements in almost all applications are tremendously changed by the researchers. Here, mentioning the theory to increase the quality benefits in all corners of power utilization. By summing potential elements such as Unified power Quality conditioner, fuel cell to suppress the problems at the consumer points. UPQC is capable to supporting dynamic conditions at combined common connection in the system. To achieve the consumer expectations in our country, Power Quality is a big subject as there are frequent power variations, outages and frequency. Hence, it is required to take crucial steps in the direction of the growth. This hybridization of different elements gives the research in the angle of improving several issues, for unbalanced distribution system. This paper comes up with a configuration of UPQC that incorporates DC –to-DC converter along with the fuel - cell at the DC-link side, the whole setup run under MATLAB environment.
  • NLC and SFO Control Technique Based Multilevel Inverter fed 3 Induction Motor Drive
    P. Mahesh, C. Venkatesh, V. Rajagopal
2021 International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Future Electric Transportation Sefet 2021, 2021
In this work, hybrid control technique based 3$-\\varphi$ induction motor drive fed from a cascaded multilevel inverter is presented. In the past decades regular two level inverters are, however these are having output voltage with harmonic content. To improve the solar photovoltaic system power quality and voltage rating, the multilevel inverters are employed along with several lower voltage dc sources is employed. In multilevel inverters power conversion is by synthesizing a staircase voltage waveform. The presented inverter configuration is derived from a module of addition and subtraction of sources. It helps to reduce the number of components - number of sources, switching drive, capacitors, diodes and majorly power switches. In this work, performance analysis and operating modes of 3$-\\varphi$ cascaded hybrid control technique based multilevel inverter for both symmetrical and asymmetrical topologies are explained. Further, the nearest level control (NLC) and switching frequency optimal (SFO) control techniques are employed in this work. To operate the power switches in this topology the switching signals are generated by using hybrid SFO-NLC technique. The enhanced features of this topology with the perspectives of power quality and optimized switching count are presented. The inverter fed drive system with proposed control technique is simulated by MATLAB/Simulink for the verification of the performance of the technique under both steady state and dynamic conditions.
  • A Comprehensive Analysis of 17-level Modified H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter
    Harshavardhan Govulakonda, Challa Venkatesh
2021 IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing VLSI Electrical Circuits and Robotics Discover 2021 Proceedings, 2021
Analysis of 17-level modified H-Bridge multilevel inverter is performed and presented in this paper. The number of components is limited to reduce the total number of components per levels factor, and DC sources are held in the circuit in such a way as to decrease the maximum voltage on the switches. In addition, PWM techniques such as level shifted carrier PWM and ANDed PWM is used to decrease the THD. Thus, parameters deciding the efficiency of the multilevel inverter are improved and simulation results are presented. Finally, analysis of a three-phase H-Bridge MLI connected to squirrel cage induction motor is performed to validate its performance for industrial applications. Parameters deciding the efficiency of multilevel inverter such as maximum voltage rating on the switches, THD, and total number of components per levels factor are addressed with a solution. Performance of the inverter are presented and compared with other topologies to justify 17-level modified Hbridge MLI performance.

  • Performance Improved Multilevel Inverter with Selective Harmonic Elimination
    P Mamatha, Challa Venkatesh
Proceedings 2017 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical Electronics and Computing Technologies Icrteect 2017, 2017
Various topologies of multilevel inverters have been proposed as a potential replacement for cascaded multilevel inverters in high-voltage, high-power applications as they can be extended to any number of voltage levels without introducing much more complexity to the control system. This paper discussed in detail about the application of selective harmonic elimination pulse-width modulation (SHE-PWM) technique for thirteen-level cascaded submultilevel inverters. The switching angles are computed so as to eliminate the predominant low harmonic orders from inverter output voltage such that the total harmonic distortion (THD) is a minimum. The modulation method presented is confirmed by MATLAB/Simulink software and the simulation results are discussed.
