DoS Attacks, Triad and Privacy: Software Exposures in Microsoft, Apple and Google Shahid Anium Proceedings 2020 1st International Conference of Smart Systems and Emerging Technologies Smart TECH 2020, 2020 Internet age thrives on connectivity features and accessibility options, while denial of services attacks are detrimental to accessibility. In this context our research is making use of software exposures datasets from National Institute of Standards and Technology for analysis of denial of services (DoS) exposure of various products of three major vendors named as Microsoft (MS), Apple (AP) and Google (GO). A non-linear logit regression model has been used to force binary predictions for variety of DoS related vulnerabilities, given the values of independent variables established through the odd ratios of dependent variables including accessibility type, complexity and scores of attacks, authenticity level as well as confidentiality, accessibility and/or integrity violations. Interesting results compares and contrasts three vendors. Availability has bigger effects for two vendors (MS and AP) but not for GO in case of dependent variable DoS as well for all three vendors for dependent variable of (DoS +Info) vulnerability type which is also heavily influenced by Confidentiality in all three vendors, although impact on MS for both these independent variables on both of these dependent variables are too high as compared to other two vendors. Other heavy affects have been noted on (DoS +Priv) from Access and Integrity for MS and confidentiality for GO, on DoS Mem. Corr. from availability and on DoS Exec Code Overflow Mem. Corr. from complexity both for AP.
A Levy Flight Based Voltage Particle Swarm Optimization for Multiple-Objective Mixed Cost-Effective Emission Dispatch Kapil Deo Bodha, Vivekananda Mukherjee, Vinod Kumar Yadav, Kumar Saurabh, Shahroz Anium Proceedings of the 8th International Conference Confluence 2018 on Cloud Computing Data Science and Engineering Confluence 2018, 2018 In this article, an optimization technique inspired from the nature has been incorporated with levy flight to resolve multiple-objective mixed cost-effective emission dispatch (MEED) challenges. An optimization technique named levy flight based voltage particle swarm optimization (LF-VPSO) technique has been introduced to maintain the adequate balance concerning the generation of power and emission of pollutants. MEED problem has been modeled using third order function. MEED objectives have been transformed into the one-objective function by considering penalty factor. The introduced method is executed with IEEE 30-bus test network. The simulation results obtained have been juxtaposed with theta particle swarm optimization (θ-PSO) method, multiple-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) method and multiple-objective differential evolution particle swarm optimization method (MO-DE-PSO), which suggests that the proposed method gives the best solution amongst all the other reported optimization approaches. MATLAB R2016a platform has been used for simulation/programming.
