Experimental Investigation of Microbubble Evolution in the Liquivac Multiphase Flow Pump Hamad FA, Safa Najim, Keville Tony, Atma Prakash, Sajid Abdullah Asia Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2026 This paper aims to experimentally investigate the mechanisms of microbubble characteristics evolution within an axial pump. The findings will aid in assessing the pump performance by identifying the range of bubble sizes and comparing them with the threshold size (< 300 μm). This study also provides evidence supporting the use of such pumps as microbubble generators for large‐scale applications, such as aquaculture farms and dissolved air flotation (DAF) in water treatment processes. The temporal and spatial characteristics of microbubbles were analysed at water flow rates of 16.7, 33, 50, 67, and 83 L/min, and air volumetric qualities ( β ) ranging from 10% to 40%, at a pump rotational speed of 2900 rpm. High‐speed photography and image processing techniques were employed to record 200 video frames (around 6 s) to analyse them in order to determine the mean microbubble size and distribution. The main findings include the following: (i) bubble size decreases along the axial direction from the pump inlet to the outlet; (ii) microbubble size decreases with higher water flow rates and increases with higher air volumetric qualities; (iii) increased impeller rotation, at constant water flow rate and air volumetric quality, reduces microbubble size.
Visualizing and Evaluating Microbubbles in Multiphase Flow Applications Safa A. Najim, Deepak Meerakaviyad, Kul Pun, Paul Russell, Poo Balan Ganesan, et al. Fluids, 2024 Accurate visualization of bubbles in multiphase flow is a crucial aspect of modeling heat transfer, mixing, and turbulence processes. It has many applications, including chemical processes, wastewater treatment, and aquaculture. A new software, Flow_Vis, based on experimental data visualization, has been developed to visualize the movement and size distribution of bubbles within multiphase flow. Images and videos recorded from an experimental rig designed to generate microbubbles were analyzed using the new software. The bubbles in the fluid were examined and found to move with different velocities due to their varying sizes. The software was used to measure bubble size distributions, and the obtained results were compared with experimental measurements, showing reasonable accuracy. The velocity measurements were also compared with literature values and found to be equally accurate.
Design Interactive Game by Using Visualization: The Movie Data Set Zainab H. Zalaan, Safa A. Najim 2022 Iraqi International Conference on Communication and Information Technologies Iiccit 2022, 2022 Data visualization is a strategy for seeing previously unknown data that will aid humanity in discovering essential information. There are various ways to represent datasets, but data visualization is the most effective because of its ability in seeing unseen information, which is a valuable tool for assisting in understanding and keeping interactive games enjoyable. The representation of the skeleton by the game is necessary when the skeleton is used to analyze the visualization patterns, and therefore the visualization of the dataset gives effective results. In this paper, we will present a new method that will effectively analyze the visualization patterns and present an interactive movie with interactive movements compared to the movements of the original visualization patterns in the dataset, and visualize movie datasets, by quantities of movie skeleton, which can be used in-game. This new method is quantity skeleton has a good level of speed, efficiency, and accuracy. In the conclusion of this study, we will present all of the outcomes of the comparison among our proposed method and other well-known ways, proving the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed through the use of well-known comparison measures and the presentation of the results.
Parallel faithful dimensionality reduction to enhance the visualization of remote sensing imagery Safa A. Najim, Alaa A. Najim, Ik Soo Lim, Mohammed Saeed Neurocomputing, 2015 In this paper, we will introduce a new method to investigate the best visualization of remote sensing imagery data sets on graphics processing units (GPU). The main shortcoming of classical dimension reduction methods is that their visualizations inevitably lose a significant amount of information in remote sensing imagery. Our proposed method (Enhancement Trustworthy (ET)) preserves the color distance as noticeably as possible for high dimension space by defining parallel-supervised extra step to enhance the quality of visualization. The ET classifies the visualization colors into false and true, and constructs a trustworthiness of CIE color space to improve the trustworthy value of false colors. The trustworthiness value of points inside CIE color space illustrate the locations of false and true projected colors in the visualization. Our method is supervised, where the user can select the interested points to enhance by ET. The proposed method is general enhancement step which can be used to enhance any visualization, for example, we used it to enhance the visualizations of remote sensing imagery data sets, which are carried by PCA, SPE and Isomap methods. The results showed the ability of ET to overcome the false colors and return the more reliable true colors. The colors of enhance visualizations showed more details which represent the real neighborhood relation in original data sets.
