This paper discusses the results of an experimental study on the implementation of computer-assisted science teaching in an elementary school in Indonesia. With a goal to enhance student learning interests and outcomes, we experimented a science teaching practice using a computer game. To this end, we involved as many as 31 students in our study. Student learning interests were measured using questionnaires. After conducting three experiments, we found that the use of a computer game effectively improved their interests in learning science. In addition, the improvement was made in their learning outcomes.

The pruning waste of Java Apple (Syzygium samarangense) tree branch can be used for its propagation by stem cuttings. The rooting process can be accelerated with the help of growth regulators, one of which is betung bamboo shoot extract. Using a randomized block design, this experiment aims at examining the effect of betung bamboo shoot extract with concentrations of 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% on the growth of Java Apple stem cuttings. The samples were 48 stem cuttings with a diameter of 1 cm and a length of 15 cm. The results showed that betung bamboo (Dendrocalamus asper) extracts could accelerate the propagation process. The optimum concentration was 50%.

This study aims to determine the sheep’ physiological response as a result of shearing by evaluating heat tolerance coefficient. The observed measurements of heat tolerance coefficient were rectal temperature and respiratory rate. The results of this experimental method showed that the average rectal temperature of all Garut sheep groups ranged from 38.6 °C–39.0 °C, while the average respiratory rate of both sheep groups was 35.1 breaths per minute to 45.1 breaths per minute. Most of the Garut sheep groups during the study have 2.5 to 3.0 heat tolerance coefficient in which the recommended normal animal heat tolerance coefficient is 2. To sum up, the observed heat tolerance of the Garut sheep in both treatments is above the recommended value. Furthermore, there was a significantly lower difference in heat tolerance coefficient in shear-shaved sheep (2.5) compared to the unshaven ones (3).
