In this paper, a standalone permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) system is designed to generate power at maximum power point (MPP). The variable speed operation of wind energy conversion system consists of PMSG, controlled rectifier and voltage source inverter co to the load. Proportional integral (PI), sliding mode (SM), and feed forward neural network (FFNN) control strategies are applied in field oriented control (FOC) at generator side converter. A comparative study on power generated at maximum power point (MPP) is done with these controllers using simulation. Hill climb search (HCS) method is applied to attain MPP. Load side inverter control strategy involves the PI and SM controllers in order to maintain the unity power factor and to control the active and reactive power for nonlinear load. The control strategies are modelled and simulated with MATLAB/Simulink. The effectiveness of proposed control method is demonstrated using simulation results.

• Role Of Green Buildings in Sustainable Living: Implementation and Impacts

The Electrochemical Society
The rise in the number of carbon footprints has led to various new challenges and opportunities to reduce the rate of global warming and carbon footprints present in the atmosphere. Similarly, the amount of global warming caused by the modern buildings and electrical devices which are required for the purpose of cooling and heating have played a key role in the higher concentration of temperature in the urban areas. On the other hand, the temperature levels in rural areas are comparatively lower than the urban areas due to large bare land available for the free movement of air and the effect of trees have reduced the temperature with the help of natural shades and oxygen production. Therefore, the concept of green building and net zero building have been incorporated to enable the concept of nature into the buildings where the people can be more interconnected to the nature and get benefited to reduce the overall temperature and global warming effect in the coming future.

This Paper focuses on load sharing and power rerouting during fault conditions. This paper explains the Fault Locations Isolation and Service Restoration (FLISR) Methodology the proposed simulation is established with the existing IEEE 9-BUS system on the software of MATLAB. The Introduction of Circuit breakers helps the existing 9-BUS System to perfectly work as a smart grid with uninterrupted power supply to the loads connected to the bus. The paper establishes a novel idea of rerouting powers with help of automated logic gates with relay functions. The simulation also helps us to conclude that under very low cost a conventional grid can be made to work as a smart grid with automated power routing to reduce the power outrages faced by public/Industries.

• Safety feature in electric vehicle at public charging station
Viswanathan Ganesh, V.M Ajay Krishna, and R.R Ajit Ram

IEEE
The growth of Electric Vehicle has become an inevitable requirement in the coming days, as it helps in the reduction of carbon emission and footprint which can reduce the current pace of climate change. Since the growth of Electric Vehicles Had Increased, but the customers are afraid of charging infrastructures in the region of Asian/African continent as there is a huge gap between the charging infrastructure and Charging companies. They are afraid of Vehicle to Grid Concept during Fault conditions as it can damage the health of the battery in the long run. This paper deals with an isolation mechanism in combination with a gridconnected Photo voltaic system which goes hand in hand with the main grid and shares the amount of required power with the supply grid. A case study with five Electric vehicles charging at various instances depicting a real-life study.

Our near-term strategy is strengthened by the complexity of regional threats such as climate change and stability of global power grids. The Indian economy is definitely one of the world's tallest economies. Increasingly, economic power networks have also grown exponentially with a significant increase in renewable energy installations. Given all this, the allocation of energy here isn't standardized. It poses several problems and finds a quicker and fresher way of addressing these issues. So, we will live an electrifying life everywhere in a remote section of our country, from a metro city, until then This paper is therefore a summary of the clean energy projects in our energy system and development in the introduction of smart grids. Any connectivity network is an important part of smart grid growth. Scalable and robust connectivity infrastructure is essential both for smart grid construction and operation. In this paper we discuss the context and inspiration of the smart grid networks communication infrastructure. As part of a complex smart grid network, we are addressing the problems for the communication infrastructure. Smart meters are fitted with electronic devices that secretly connect with utilities to save energy and ensure customers are using power properly. This cycle helps to reduce pollution from the commodity and waste electricity. This paper describes Smart Meter's architecture, obstacles, difficulties, chances and applications.

• Real-time monitoring and control of flow rate in transportation pipelines using matlab-based interactive gui and pid controller
S. Vijayalakshmi, C. Anuradha, R. C. Ilambirai, and Viswanathan Ganesh

Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science

In this paper, a Matlab based GUI and Propotinal Integral Dervative (PID) controller is designed to automatically regulate the flow-rate of the circulating fluid. When fluids are transported over long distances, the pressure and flow rate have to be monitored remotely in a control room. Using an HMI or Control Panels the flow rate can be increased or decreased to compensate for pressure drops or disturbances. This paper attempts to demonstrate such an Industrial Control Operation in a scaled-down environment. A Graphical User Interface or GUI is constructed which enables the Operator to monitor, as well as control an electronically actuated Control Valve which can efficiently regulate the flow-rate. Automatic operations have also been implemented using a PID controller algorithm, which tries to track the Set-point in Real-time.
