  • Situational judgment test measures administrator computational thinking with factor analysis
Cicilia Dyah Sulistyaningrum Indrawati, Sigit Permansah, Patni Ninghardjanti, Anton Subarno, Winarno Winarno, and Dede Rusmana

Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science
Computational thinking skills (CTS) play a crucial role across diverse domains, involving a thinking process that allows the execution of solutions by information processing agents. Measuring the level of CTS becomes essential to ensure that administrators effectively leverage technology. However, finding suitable instruments to measure and justify CTS levels in administration can be challenging. The selection of situational judgement test (SJT) is supported by its validity and reliability in assessing attributes, including professionalism. The instrument’s development includes face validity, discriminant validity (using Pearson correlation and Cronbach’s alpha), and exploratory factor analysis (EFA). The study involved 111 undergraduate administration students from various Indonesian universities, and data were collected in 2023. Following a discriminant validity analysis, ten items were eliminated, while 23 met the criteria with p0.185. Subsequently, EFA yielded 16 items forming seven components, covering algorithmic thinking, problem-solving, technology literacy, problem abstraction, problem reformulation, data management in administration technology, and administrative data presentation with loading factor variations (0.421-0.868). The final instrument, consisting of 16 valid items and seven components, effectively evaluates the level of administrator computational thinking skills (ACTS) among administration students.

  • Exploring green office buildings at Sebelas Maret University: A study on students' perception
A Subarno, Winarno, and P Ninghardjanti

    IOP Publishing
Abstract Indoor environmental quality (IEQ) can positively influence occupant satisfaction levels in green-rated buildings. IEQ determines how occupants perceive the interior environment. This study investigated students’ perceptions of green office buildings at Sebelas Maret University. Sixty-eight respondents were involved, consisting of 15 male and 53 female students. Four green office building indicators, namely building features, financial support and commitment, health and well-being, and image and branding, were used as predictor variables, while corporate social responsibility was the dependent variable. Pearson correlation was used for the validation test, and Cronbach’s alpha was used for the reliability test (α = .05). The data were analyzed using multiple regression, taking into account prerequisite tests including normality, linearity, heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity, and autocorrelation. All items were valid and reliable, and all prerequisite tests were met. The results showed that the four independent variables simultaneously have a significant influence on corporate social responsibility (F = 25.78, p < .05). Partially, three predictor variables have significant correlations with the dependent variable: building features (t = 2.86, p < .05), health and well-being (t = 2.03, p < .05), and image and brand (t = 5.16, p < .05). The variables of financial support and commitment have no significant effect on the dependent variable (t = -.32, p > .05). The adjusted R squared value is 0.60, which means that the four independent variables affect the dependent variable by 60%, and 40% is influenced by other variables not included in this study.

Vocational high schools play an important role in connecting graduates to industry to provide professional workforce input. However, modern times demand an increase in the quality of complex human resources to effectively prepare them to work in the industry. This study examined the relationship between the effects of interpersonal skills and constructive knowledge on work readiness through work motivation. A quantitatively inferential method with a population of vocational high school students was employed. Data were obtained using the structural equation model with the analysis of moment structure 2.4 version application. The research findings showed that interpersonal skills and constructive knowledge have a significant positive effect on work readiness and work motivation interferes with the influence of interpersonal skills and constructive knowledge on work readiness. The results suggest that vocational schools that focus on work readiness need to pay attention to interpersonal skills, constructive knowledge, and work motivation, since they are essential for students. Moreover, this study implies that if we want to improve students’ work readiness, we must enhance their interpersonal skills and constructive knowledge of teaching and learning in vocational schools. Further research should empirically examine this issue to explore other factors that affect students’ work readiness.

    IOP Publishing
Abstract Researchers conducted this disaster education research to convey the importance of disaster knowledge and awareness in disaster-prone areas. The purpose of this study was to analyze the forms of disaster education in the last decade. Several previous studies on disaster education were analyzed and reviewed. This systematic review used an article selection process. It defined the purpose, conducting a literature search, pulling articles by reading abstracts, reading the full papers, abstracting data, and conducting an analysis. The disaster education system was classified into formal and non-formal education, consisting of pre-disaster, emergency responses, and post-disaster learning materials. Lastly, 95 articles have been reviewed involving a total number of participants from 29 to 430 people. The majority of research methods in this article were lectured through experimentation and integrated learning. While the research instruments used were questionnaires, documentation, observations, and interviews. In various fields of research, game-based learning enhances the understanding of disaster prevention.

  • The Prototype of Rupiah Electronic Application for Retailers
Amina Sukma Dewi and Anton Subarno

    IOP Publishing
Abstract Retail traders rarely use rupiah values of less than one thousand rupiah. Moreover, the use of small money under one hundred rupiah is practically no longer used. From the buyer’s point of view, a reduction in the price of just one rupiah has been taken into account, especially in purchasing of a large quantity of goods, of course a slight reduction in price is very meaningful. This study aims to create a prototype electronic rupiah application in order to facilitate financial transactions, especially in the payment of goods’ prices with a value below one thousand rupiahs. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study was all undergraduate students who visited the “Idaman” canteen at Sebelas Maret University with 32 respondents. The sampling technique used incidental random sampling, while the data analysis used was confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The results showed that the application prototype of electronic rupiah needs to pay attention to three things, namely feature design, transaction design, and user account’s security design. Feature design is a basic view of display that needs to be made in such a way as to be attractive and easy to understand. Advanced display design is the details of the buttons on the basic view of menu display which contain transaction/arrangement designs. Account security design is a confirmation of account operation via email and data backup to anticipate if the internet connection is lost. Confirmation is used in making payments via password and or SMS (short message service). The details of these three designs will be discussed in this article.

    IOP Publishing
Abstract The world of education dismisses students (studying at home) to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. In such conditions, teachers are challenged to apply all their abilities and expertise so that they can continue to teach students by transferring knowledge, pedagogic abilities, and their belief in successful online learning. This study aims to explore how lecturers can conduct teaching in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and what they use as a medium to conduct successful online teaching. In addition, researchers also want to know how lecturers can adjust the online teaching transition. The design of this research is qualitative research using deep interview tests to explore online learning that suits current needs. The research was conducted at the department of Office Administration Education Sebelas Maret University with the head of the study program as the key informant. The data validity test used source triangulation and method triangulation. The sampling technique was purposive snowball sampling, data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation, and data analysis techniques used interactive data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show a good connection communication network of all students and lecturers is a major aspect that must be considered in lectures even though using simultaneously online social media, e.g. You Tube, Google Classroom, Google Meet, and WhatsApp. The Covid-19 pandemic is considered a challenge and an opportunity to conduct research in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) especially on digital classroom management. The outcomes of research that can be directly utilized by the user are the output targets research whose activities are manifested in the form of community service. Community Service Program (KKN) is a tangible form of student involvement in community service.
