  • Integrating information system success and task technology models to develop a fit artificial intelligence-based evaluation system
Ulfia Rahmi, Yulianto Santoso, Azrul Azrul
Interactive Technology and Smart Education, 2026
Purpose Artificial intelligence (AI) has been increasingly applied in various learning activities, both fully online and blended. However, its integration into evaluation systems remains limited. This study aims to address this gap by identifying development factors through the integration of the Information System (IS) Success Model and the Task–Technology Fit (TTF) Model to design a fit AI-based evaluation system. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative survey method was used. Data were collected through a structured online questionnaire administered to 940 students from two state universities in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and partial least squares structural equation modeling to test validity, reliability and the relationships between constructs. Findings This study proposes a model for developing an AI-based evaluation system, demonstrating that IS Success and TTF factors jointly determine utilization, performance impact and net benefit. The results of this study show that this integrated model provides valuable recommendations regarding the contribution of service quality and task–technology alignment, as it enables optimal benefits from the system. Practical implications The findings of this study have direct implications for online and blended learning in higher education. Integrating an AI-based evaluation system into a learning management system can serve as an early warning tool, as it offers timely feedback on students’ learning outcomes. Originality/value This research provides a novel theoretical-empirical perspective by integrating the IS Success Model and the TTF Model to specify design requirements for an AI-based evaluation system. Rather than developing an AI tool, this study identifies the system, task-fit and quality factors necessary to guide future AI-driven assessment implementation.

  • A Model for Optimizing Blended Learning Success: The Roles of Learning Object, Learning Strategies, and Perception of Acceptance

    Edutec, 2025
Learning objects, albeit small, play a significant role in conveying the learning objectives that align with learning strategies. Integrating these elements fosters positive perceptions of blended learning, which is expected to impact learning outcomes. However, there is a gap in the research on the relationship between learning objects, learning strategies, perceptions, and learning outcomes. This study aimed to develop and validate models and factors that influence the implementation of blended learning in higher education. A quantitative survey was conducted with 449 participants. The instruments used had undergone validity and reliability testing, and the data were analyzed using SEM. The results indicate that there is a model of factors influencing learning outcomes in the context of blended learning. This model includes nine dimensions of learning objects, six dimensions of learning strategies, and five dimensions of perception of acceptance, all of which significantly affect learning outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of considering the following factors in blended learning: a) learning objects, including presentation design, interaction usability, accessibility, reusability, feedback, and adaptation; b) learning strategies, such as rehearsal, elaboration, organization, critical thinking, learning time and environment, and peer learning; and c) perception of acceptance, including levels of use, attitudes, and technology adoption.
  • Equity and Accessibility in Blended Learning at Higher Education: An Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analysis
Ulfia Rahmi, Yulianto Santoso, Yullys Helsa, Azrul Azrul
Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education, 2025
This study aims to explore the factors that influence access and equity in blended learning in higher education because this approach may not fully support learning equity and learning access. The study utilized a correlative survey model of the quantitative research method, gathering data from 420 students from social science disciplines at state and private universities through an online questionnaire. The data were collected through Google Forms, distributed to the students, and then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The survey results indicated that the identified factors form a model of access and equity in blended learning. The results also showed that learning style, learning content, and learning activity significantly impact access and equity in blended learning. The findings have practical implications for enhancing access and equity in learning. The implications are administrators should consider providing services to develop content and learning activities to tailor content and learning activities to students’ learning styles, organize workshops to improve the skills of stakeholders and enhance quality management to develop common vision for enhancing access and equity in blended learning.
  • Virtual Reality-Based or Assisted Learning and Academic Achievement: A Meta-Analytic Review
Ulfia Rahmi, Yullys Helsa, Suparman Suparman, Winanda Amilia, Azrul Azrul
    TEM Journal, 2025
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of VLR (Virtual Reality-Based Learning) on academic performance and to explore key factors that contribute to variations in students' academic achievement. Many empirical studies regarding the implementation of VRL and its effect on students’ academic achievement, such as attitude, motivation, ability in conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and creativity, and technical skills have been increasingly conducted in the three last decades. Of all studies, nevertheless, it can be revealed that VLR has an inconsistent effect on students’ academic achievement. Moreover, participants emerged as a key factor influencing variations in students' academic achievement in VLR, while other factors, including class size, educational level, and the duration of the intervention, learning environment, learning outcome, and scientific field did not differentiate students’ academic achievement in VLR. This study suggests that teachers or lecturers can utilize VLR as an effective strategy to improve students' academic performance. This study was carried out using a systematic review combined with meta-analysis. The findings of this study indicate that VLR has a moderately positive effect on students' academic performance, significantly improving their academic outcomes.

  • Effectiveness of Interactive Content with H5P for Moodle-Learning Management System in Blended Learning
Ulfia Rahmi, Bayu Ramadhani Fajri, Azrul Azrul
Journal of Learning for Development, 2024
The end of the pandemic era has brought new changes and challenges to lectures held in a blended learning environment, one of which is the use of interactive content. The objective of this study was to analyse, develop and evaluate the presentation of content using H5P in blended learning, its relevance to lecture topics, activities to achieve learning outcomes using the rotation-type blended learning model and how students perceive it after using this H5P content. It focused on the rotation model that is commonly used in blended learning. However, this model has not included H5P much yet. The sampling method was purposive. The data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire. The questionnaire data were examined using the bivariate Pearson correlation approach. The results of this study indicated that the use of H5P as a supporting component in implementing the rotation model type of integrated learning increases student knowledge, skill and satisfaction. Lecturers can apply H5P-based content as content support in blended learning for other study programmes by following the content development steps, type rotation scenario and how the H5P interactive videos are used.
