  • Evaluation of post COVID-19 energy poverty and global trading impact on energy affordability
Elena Rostislavovna Schislyaeva and Olga Anatolievna Saychenko

    Frontiers Media SA
Energy poverty become a serious global problem after COVID-19 among the developing and developed countries that must have to be addressed to meet United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Moreover, the factors contributes to energy poverty have given little attention. The study aims to overlooked on the energy affordability and accessibility among the Europeans living in Energy poverty. Therefore, study mainly concerning on the effecting factors such as bilateral commerce, globalization, and the quality of bureaucracy that possibly affect energy poverty. The influence of bilateral commerce on energy poverty was investigated using many robust panel data approaches, including cross-sectional autoregressive distributed lag (CS-ARDL), common correlated effects generalized method of moments (CCE-GMM), and instrumental variable regression. Annual data utilizes from European nations (from 2000 to 2019). According to the econometric findings, bilateral commerce enhances energy accessibility while raising energy prices. Economic globalization was meant to raise energy costs and restrict fuel access for Europe’s poorest citizens. Study suggested that bilateral trade should be assessed to ensure energy demand and supply conditions meet to keep the energy pricing in the afforadbale range especially among the low income families in the Europen countries. Across models, these results are consistent, allowing us to propose fresh energy accessibility and affordability conclusions in line with the SDGs.

    MDPI AG
Economies globally have relied on the difficulties of labor market operations. Their survival is based on their ability to adapt to the realities of current technological and digital requirements. The purpose of this study was to assess the future needs of the labor market for soft skills acquired by employees in the context of digitalization of the economy in facing modern attributes of labor market requirements using secondary data. The arguments advanced in this paper are premised on the notion that the digitalization of the economy leads to an increase in employers’ need for employees to acquire soft skills. The study is grounded on the Goal-Setting Theory of Motivation, which presupposes that there is a critical link between the goals individuals or organizations set for themselves and their performance. The analysis of the selected studies revealed that soft skills are considered critical during job interviews and are becoming increasingly scarce. This study predicts a shortage of employees with soft skills, accompanied by an increase in employers’ need for flexible skills. Additionally, this research recommends that discussions should consider the implications of digital technologies for personnel management and holistic measures to safeguard organizational wellbeing and protect the labor market economy through digitalization.

  • Integrated Estimation of a Cyber-Physical System’s Sustainability
Elena Schislyaeva, Elena Balashova, Inna Krasovskaya, Olga Saychenko, and Elena Palkina

    MDPI AG
Currently, in conditions of Industry 4.0, the use of cyber-physical systems in various fields is becoming widespread. This article is devoted to the problem of estimating CPS sustainability in the context of modern challenges faced by decision makers and IT developers in order to ensure effective proactive business process management using this innovative technology. The purpose of the research is to propose and substantiate a methodology for estimating CPS sustainability to ensure the reliability and strength of its elements, their interrelationships and interaction, as well as the effective functioning and development of this system in conditions of high dynamism and uncertainty of the external environment. In this study, we used methods of integral evaluation, synthesis, expert assessments, dynamic analysis, and systematic approach, and coined the term ‘CPS sustainability’. Our study showed that negative risks, external and internal threats may have a significant adverse impact on CPS sustainability. The reliability of this system should be evaluated on the basis of integrated indicators. The key indicators, reflecting the reliability of maintaining the properties of the CPS in a normal state of its function and further development, were identified. We propose a methodology for estimating CPS sustainability. In general, the presented results form the basis for improving CPS management to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of its functioning and development.

    Springer International Publishing
Topicality of the research is established through the main tendencies in the digital economy and development of industrial companies. The authors determine the main problems of the digital economy and show that industrial companies - as a subject of the digital economy – could provide a mechanism of managing the eco-system and, as a result, the negative factors – a mechanism of developing a strategy of sustainable development of companies. The purpose of the work is to create a mechanism of developing a strategy of sustainable company in the eco-system of the digital economy. The stages of the mechanism of developing a strategy are presented: strategic analysis, development of the strategy, creation of a mechanism of implementing the strategy, and implementation and control over effectiveness of the implementation. The research shows that through management of the factors of external and internal digital environments industrial companies influence the sustainability of business ties and influence the moral foundations of employees and consumers. It is established that development of a strategy of sustainable development of a company is impossible without creation of competencies with the managers and specialists in the sphere of digital technologies and without a tool of control over effectiveness of the strategy implementation.
