Relationship Between Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW) and Histopathological Grading and Metastasis in Breast Cancer Patients at Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, Makassar, Indonesia Andi Ichsan Makkawaru, John Pieter Jr., M. Ihwan Kusuma, Salman Ardi Syamsu, Nilam Smaradhania, Elridho Sampepajung, Muhammad Faruk Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Biology, 2025 Background: Breast cancer (BC) is a significant global health concern with an increasing incidence. Identifying simple and affordable prognostic indicators for early detection and treatment guidance is crucial. Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW), a hematologic parameter reflecting erythrocyte volume variation, has the potential to indicate systemic inflammation and cancer progression. This study aimed to explore the role of RDW as a prognostic factor in BC patients.Methods: This cross-sectional study involved secondary data from 517 BC patients. The data included age, RDW values, histopathological grade, and metastasis status. Statistical analysis utilized independent T-tests, ANOVA, linear regression, correlation analysis, and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves, with a significance level set at ρ<0.05.Results: The mean RDW was 15.4 ± 9.3%. Significant differences in RDW were observed across histopathological grades (Grade 1: 13.29 ± 1.62; Grade 2: 14.53 ± 6.90; Grade 3: 18.28 ± 14.03; ρ<0.001) and between patients with metastasis (16.49 ± 10.0) and without metastasis (15.02 ± 9.01; ρ=0.001). A 1% increase in RDW was associated with a 0.012 increase in histopathological grade (95% CI: 0.006-0.017; ρ=0.001) and a 1.016 times increased odds of metastasis (OR: 1.016; 95% CI: 1.001-1.039; ρ=0.001). The Area Under the Curve (AUC) of the ROC curve for the highest histopathological grade was 0.841 (sensitivity 83.8%, specificity 78.1%), and for metastasis prediction, the AUC was 0.624 (sensitivity 80.6%, specificity 28.7%).Conclusion: RDW demonstrates a significant positive correlation with histopathological grade and metastasis in BC patients, suggesting its potential as an accessible prognostic indicator.
Prediction of Sediment Yield Using the Algoritma Lavenberg-Marquardt Uca, Muhammad Ansarullah S. Tabbu, Andi Makkawaru Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 Erosion and sediment that occurs in the basin is very important to be studied scientifically.Forcasting of sediment yield in a basins area is important to used to evaluate the land-use/landcover change, soil erosion hazard, planning, water quality, water resources in river, and to determine the extent of the damage that occurred in the basins. The algoritmh lavenberg-marquardt can be used to forcest the total of sediment yield the basin area. Artificial neural networks using feedforward multilayer percePsron with three learning algorithms namely Levenberg-Marquardt. The number of neurons of the hidden layer is three to sixteen, while in the output layer only one neuron because only one output target. The root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), coefficient of determination (R2 ), and coefficient of efficiency (CE). The performance value in the training process, R2, and CE (0.98 and 0.98). As well as for the testing process, R2 and CE (0.98 and 0.97). Based on the performance statistics value, LM is very suitable and accurate for to forcesting by modeling the non-linear complex behavior of sediment yield responses to water discharge, intensity of rainfall, and water depth in the river.
Estimation of Coal Distribution in Tawanga Village, East Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi by Using DC Resistivity Method Laode Ngkoimani, Laode Saleh Isa, Jahidin, Syamsurizal, Suryawan Asfar, Andi Makkawaru Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2017 The purpose of this study is to determine coal distribution and plating in Tawanga Village, Eastern Kolaka Southeast Sulawesi. The measurements were performed in 3 lines which length of every line is 32 m, 64 m, and 80 m by using Geoelectrical method. The data then analyzed by using Res2Dinv software to find out resistivity and rock layer structure. By using this software revealed that resistivity for between 0.0913 and 438 Ωm, 0.552 and 344 Ωm, 0.898 and 271 Ωm for the first line, second line and third line ranging repectively. Based on these results then coal distribution was estimated. That is found that they are around 130-438 Ωm for the first line, 137-344 Ωm for the second line, and 120-271 Ωm for the third line. They distributes at 0,5 - 12,4 meter from northwest to southeast.
Correlation between Magnetic Susceptibility and Gold (Au) Content in Bombana Gold Mine Area (BGMA), Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia L O Ngkoimani, Jahidin, Haryati, S Razak, A Makkawaru, S Asfar, M R Muin Iop Conference Series Earth and Environmental Science, 2017 The measurement of magnetic susceptibility and the content of gold (Au) on sediments in the Bombana Gold Mining Area (BGMA) has been done. The samples analyzed totaled 121 samples. The magnetic susceptibility values was measured using Low Field MS2B Bartington Susceptibility meter, while the contents of gold (Au) was measured using X-Ray Nitton. Generally, the lower the value of magnetic susceptibility, contents of gold (Au) on the sediment is higher. Based on this result, the magnetic susceptibility can be used as one of the parameters and/or the alternative methods on the exploration of gold in BGMA.
