Covid 19 patients are arriving at a referral hospital in Jakarta, meaning that the hospital must prepare its medical equipment, including a ventilator machine. The ventilator machine experienced problems because the efficiency of the machine decreased so many patients waited in the ICU room. Machine effectiveness has an average value of 62.26% so it has an impact on disrupting patient services at home. The purpose of this research is to look for factors that cause the lack of effective value of ventilator machines and find effective solutions to increase the effectiveness of ventilator machines so that they can serve Covid-19 patients during a pandemic. This research method combines Focus Group Discussion in determining 5W+1H and implementing the pillars of Total Productive Maintenance to improve the Overall Effectiveness of Equipment on Ventilator machines. This study found a breakdown factor of 54.10%, idle and minor loss of 41.20%, and others of 4.70%. The effect of overall improvement has been able to increase the average effectiveness value by 85.00% from Sep 2021-Feb 2022, so this is supported by the hospital's program in terms of increasing the effectiveness of machines in patient care.
The model selection of propeller turbine construction using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) Dedi Wardianto, Mafrizal Mafrizal, Sufiyanto Sufiyanto, Rudi Kurniawan Arief, Herry Agung Prabowo, et al. Sinergi Indonesia, 2023 This study aimed to develop an innovative propeller turbine design to facilitate easy manufacturing and maintenance processes, leading to a reduction in costs. Furthermore, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was employed to identify the most optimal model and design for the propeller turbine. Problem-solving within the AHP framework was guided by three fundamental principles, namely decomposition, Comparative Judgment, and Logical Consistency. The procedure included problem decomposition, assessment/ weighting to compare elements, matrix preparation and consistency testing, setting priorities for each hierarchy, priority synthesis, and decision-making. To establish a benchmark, three types of propeller turbines currently available in the market served as references. Meanwhile, the selection criteria for the model were based on several factors, including power factor, time efficiency, ease of manufacture, as well as production and maintenance costs. Considering the criteria, modifications were made to these reference models, resulting in the development of alternatives, denoted as A, B, and C. The results showed that alternative type A as the most suitable choice for further development. Therefore, this particular design was granted foremost priority to develop a low-head generator that possessed ease of manufacturing and surpassed alternative models in terms of feasibility.
Implementation of Total Productive Maintenance to Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness of Linear Accelerator Synergy Platform Cancer Therapy D. I. Sukma, H. Prabowo, I. Setiawan, H. Kurnia, I. M. Fahturizal International Journal of Engineering Transactions A Basics, 2022 The Jakarta Government Hospital provides cancer services with several available types of equipment, one of which is the Linear accelerator (LINAC) Synergy Platform (SP) machine. The phenomenon of this machine experiencing a low effectiveness value because it is not able to handle the patient queue so it is not able to reduce the severity of cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing the low value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and provide suggestions for improvement to increase the OEE value. The new approach of this research is using the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach with OEE analysis as a success parameter because TPM is more identical in the manufacturing industry. Another update is using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with experts. The results of the study found that the factors that influenced the low OEE value on the LINAC SP machine were caused by breakdown loss of 76.29%, setup loss of 9.59%, idling and minor stop of 8.80%, and a decrease in speed of 5.29%. The continuous and consistent implementation of the TPM Pillar has increased the OEE value of the LINAC SP machine.
Integration of waste assessment model and lean automation to improve process cycle efficiency in the automotive industry Setiawan Setiawan, Indra Setiawan, Choesnul Jaqin, Herry Agung Prabowo, Humiras Hardi Purba Quality Innovation Prosperity, 2021 Purpose: This study aims to improve Process Cycle Efficiency (PCE) by reducing waste in the assembly production line. This research is a case study conducted in a four-wheel vehicle manufacturing company to create a Lean production system. Methodology/Approach: This study uses the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) and Lean Automation integration methods carried out by 5 expert judgements in the selected four-wheeled vehicle industry. Findings: Based on the WAM method, this study found the biggest waste on the assembly line, namely transportation with a percentage of 20.44%. Improvements made with Lean Automation can increase the value of PCE from 56.76% to 63.62%. Research Limitation/Implication: This research is limited to one model, namely Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV). This research provides benefits for companies related to waste reduction. For similar companies, this research can be input for manufacturing practitioners in improving manufacturing performance to compete in the global market. This Lean production can reduce manpower which has an impact on saving production costs. Originality/Value of paper: This paper provides added value related to the application of Lean terminology which aims to improve industrial automation-based manufacturing companies.
The readiness of human resources and organization in implementing total quality management (TQM) in Indonesia’s manufacturing industries Farida Farida, Herry Agung Prabowo, Achmad Husnur, and Journal of Engineering Research Kuwait, 2021 Total Quality Management (TQM) is a method of organizational improvement that is quite widely used in the world. Unfortunately, there are still many failures in its implementation, especially in Indonesia, for many reasons. The aim of this study was to determine the readiness of organizations and individuals in implementing TQM and its influence on the quality performance in Indonesia's manufacturing industries. The sample of this research consisted of 48 employees from about 20 privately owned companies at Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas, Indonesia. The data were collected through interviews and questionnaires, followed by statistical analysis with Structural Equation Modelling using Partial least squares (PLS) method. The results of this study indicated that, within the sector, the individual and organizational readiness in implementing TQM, as well as their quality performance, was found to be at a good level. Furthermore, the level of individual and organizational readiness in implementing TQM showed a significant effect on the quality performance, with the significance levels of 84% and more than 99%, respectively. Accordingly, 43% variation on quality performance was influenced by the individual and organizational readiness in implementing TQM, and the rest (57%) was influenced by other factors.
Total productive maintenance implementation's barriers and enablers in indonesian manufacturing companies Herry Agung Prabowo, Irfan Hilmy, Erry Yulian Triblas Adesta 2020 Advances in Science and Engineering Technology International Conferences Aset 2020, 2020 Nowadays, Corporate is implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in order to survive in a very challenging and competitive market. If they want to survive, the have to maintain and even increase their equipment efficiency. However, the TPM utilization is a relatively difficult activity. Some obstacles as well as the supporting factors will determine the speed of the implementation process. Identifying and analyzing those obstacles and supporting factor are very important steps to gain an effective utilization of the TPM. The main discussion of this research is to acquire the significant barriers and enablers of TPM implementation in Indonesian manufacturing companies using Cochran test analysis. In this report, these barriers and enablers have been determined through the literature; data collecting is done by a questionnaire-based survey. There are five significant enablers and seven barriers affecting the achievement rate of TPM.
