Rainfall is a critical parameter affecting different situations in many countries. To predict certain natural calamities like floods, the prediction of rainfall is evident. India is economically driven by agriculture, which is why rainfall patterns play an important role and hence, more precise rainfall prediction techniques in India are necessary. In this research paper, we have used various machine learning models to predict the rainfall in different places in India using Spark's machine learning library. The dataset is extracted from a weather data API, which provides the most recent and accurate weather details. After determining the appropriate factors that affect rainfall for each place, we implement three machine learning models: Linear Regression, Decision Tree Regression, and Gradient Boosted Decision Tree Regression. Then, we provide a comparative analysis based on the performance of each of these models using RMSE and R squared values. Decision Tree Regression also allows further analysis because it reflects each feature's importance when predicting rainfall. The results indicate that Gradient Boosted Decision Tree Regression is the best model in the majority of cases because it offers the highest value for R squared estimation tool, and also the lowest value for the RMSE metric. When considering each parameter's importance in predicting rainfall, “Visibility” feature plays the most important role in most of the cases.

Proceedings of 2025 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Systems Advanced Computing and Communication Isacc 2025, 2025
Peacocks can significantly impact agricultural fields by damaging crops, necessitating an efficient detection system for timely intervention. This work introduces P-YOLOv5, a modified version of the YOLOv5 architecture designed for real-time object detection in resource-constrained environments. By replacing the original YOLOv5 backbone with a customized Mobile Net, which utilizes depthwise separable convolutions, P-YOLOv5 significantly reduces model size and computational complexity while preserving high detection accuracy. The model is evaluated on a detection dataset, demonstrating its effectiveness in tracking movement patterns related to environmental interactions. Experimental results show that P-YOLOv5 achieves a mean average precision (mAP) of 0.915 and a recall rate of 0.99, outperforming YOLOv5 in both inference speed and efficiency, with a 17% reduction in model size. These findings underscore P-YOLOv5 as a highly efficient solution for real-time object detection, offering a balance of speed, accuracy, and computational efficiency.
  • An enhanced HFPA-IHS-ORP-based optimization mechanism for efficient bandwidth allocation in software-defined networks
    Jeyabharathi Paulraj, Mahalakshmi Rajaram
International Journal of Communication Systems, 2022
Nowadays, due to the increased amount of network users and resources, some emerging technologies like big data and cloud have been developed. But managing these types of networks is more complex; in order to solve this issue, a software‐defined network (SDN) is developed for managing the network in a comfortable manner, in which maintaining load balance and energy efficiency of network is highly important to satisfy the requirements of quality of service (QoS). For these reasons, various optimization‐based algorithms are developed in the traditional works, but these lack with the limitations of increased network traffic and energy consumption. In order to solve these issues, an enhanced hybrid flower pollination algorithm (HFPA) with improved harmony search (IHS) is developed in this paper. It intends to obtain an improved resource utilization and reduced network load and delay by efficiently allocating the bandwidth to the network. Moreover, an optimal routing protocol (ORP) is employed to perform the data transmission with condensed network traffic. During experimentation, the performance results of the proposed algorithm are examined and compared with some traditional methodologies. From the results, it is noted that the proposed HFPA‐IHS‐ORP provides the better results than the existing methods.
  • A Deep Q Network Optimization Algorithm for DoS Attack in WSN

3rd International Conference on Smart Electronics and Communication Icosec 2022 Proceedings, 2022
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are frequently used to gather information based on the environmental and physical factors. Security is still a significant challenge in the design of WSN. A key security issue observed in WSN is Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. In order to classify attacks in WSN, this paper introduces an artificial Deep Q Network (DQN) method with functional link neural network (ADQN-FLNN) model. Data preprocessing is first applied to the proposed ADQN-FLNN model to make the data more understandable. Secondly, the FLNN is efficiently used to recognize and categorize the WSN intrusions. The performance of FLNN model is improved by utilizing the ADQN to tune its parameters in the best possible way. An extensive experimentation evaluation has been conducted on test data to show how the ADQN-FLNN model has produced superior results, and the findings highlighted the enhanced outcomes.
