Prashant Ranjan is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, University of Engineering & Management Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. He received his M.Tech and Ph.D. degree from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has more than six years of teaching experience. He has published numerous research papers in international journals and conferences, including IEEE, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis.

Design and Study of Twin Band Quad Terminal Reflector Loaded Wearable Radiator With Reduced SAR and High Gain Dheeraj Nagar, Prashant Ranjan, Atanu Chowdhury International Journal of Communication Systems, 2026 This research presents a wearable radiator with dual‐band and quad‐terminal that is compact and made on polyimide substrate. Dual metallic rings integrated with the feed line create the band notch in between 2.66 and 3.28 GHz and convert the wideband into dual band feature. By taking use of spatial and polarization diversity, the separation level among various terminals is more than 25 dB. A single‐negative (SNG) metamaterial‐based metasurface (MS) reflector‐cum‐absorber surface located just below the radiator reduces the specific absorption rate (SAR) for the 1‐ and 10‐g tissue models by more than 90%, while also increasing the radiator gain to 5.65 and 4.55 dBi. ANSYS HFSS 2023 R2 was used for full‐wave simulations, and a Keysight E5071C VNA in both flat and bending configurations was used for experimental validation. Using a three‐layer human tissue phantom (skin, fat, and muscle) with 1‐ and 10‐g averages, SAR assessment was conducted in accordance with IEEE/IEC 62209‐1 and ICNIRP recommendations. Its performance in two frequency bands, 2.3–2.65 and 3.3–3.65 GHz, is confirmed by measurement findings. All these features make the radiator applicable for WBAN application.
Z-Slotted Circular Patch Antenna with DGS for Mid-5G Band Communication and Polyflon Cuflon Layer for Gain and Efficiency Improvement Atanu Chowdhury, Prashant Ranjan, Dinesh Yadav 2025 IEEE Microwaves Antennas and Propagation Conference Mapcon 2025, 2025 This paper presents a circular patch antenna having two “<tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{Z}$</tex>” slots and a defected ground structure (DGS) suitable for mid-band 5 G applications (sub- 6 GHz band). A semi-spherical layer of the Polyfion Cuflon layer <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$(\epsilon \mathbf{r}=2.1)$</tex> is attached to the ground to enhance the gain resulting in an improvement in radiation efficiency. The proposed antenna dimension is 40 mm <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\times 40 ~\text{mm} \times 1.6 ~\text{mm}$</tex> based upon a FR-4 substrate (<tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\epsilon \mathbf{r}=4.4$</tex>). The proposed antenna covers a bandwidth of 2 GHz to 6.5 GHz. Without the attached layer, the maximum gain is 3.5 dB while the attachment of the layer increases it up to 6.1 dB. The Radiation efficiency is also improved from 62 % to 81 % by implementing the attachment. The overall structure is designed and simulated in HFSS 21.0 software.

This paper describes the design, implementation, and assessment of an edge-based face recognition based attendance using a Raspberry Pi 5 (8 GB RAM) with the help of LogiTech <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{7 2 0}$</tex> p USB Camera and TFT HDMI Display for dashboard. On-device face detection, extraction, and recognition are achieved by means of models (MobileNetV2, FaceNet- both of which we tuned to achieve the best performance for our system) which is constructed with TensorFlow Lite. We present extensive literature review of RFID, biometric, QR, cloud-based and edge-based approaches along their detailed system design, model optimization, deployment issues and privacy and ethical considerations. Experiments show that the proposed approach achieves high matching accuracy in most conditions and can also resist privacy leakage, and is practical on devices with moderate power and low cost.
