  • Determining the Origin of Electricity Consumed from Low-Carbon and Renewable Energy Sources: A Matrix-Based Modelling Approach and Algorithm

    This article details a matrix-based mathematical method to calculate power flows and transmission losses in an electric grid specifically attributable to low-carbon and renewable energy sources (LCRES) (wind, solar, nuclear). The goal is to improve the transparency and reliability of Guarantees of Origin (GO) certificates. Current GO schemes rely on contractual accounting and neglect physical power losses, undermining consumers’ confidence that they receive “clean” energy. The method uses steady-state power flow analysis to derive a power-loss distribution coefficient matrix. This matrix accurately allocates grid losses back to the LCRES generating nodes, complying strictly with electrical engineering principles. It accommodates both time-varying renewable output and stable nuclear generation. The results offer highly accurate loss-attribution data, supporting more verifiable GOs, ensuring fair compensation for losses, and enhancing energy balance accuracy in hybrid power systems.
  • OPTIMIZATION OF CHANNEL PACKET LOSS IN WIRELESS SENSOR COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS USING MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL

    The object of the study is an IEEE 802.15.4 (2.4 GHz) wireless networked control system (WNCS) closing the loop over a wireless sensor network. Fading and interference increase packet loss and delay, reducing stability margins and control quality. The unresolved problem is the lack of a unified end-to-end (E2E) loss model that links PHY signal quality, multi-hop routing and medium access to closed-loop behavior and can be embedded into controller synthesis. An SINR-based channel model (path loss, lognormal shadowing, multipath fading) is mapped to BER and packet error probability; E2E loss for single-hop and multi-hop routes is obtained using Bernoulli and finite-state Markov (FSMC) processes. For verification, original packet traces are captured with an IEEE 802.15.4 sniffer/logger and stored before processing (timestamp, node identifier, sequence number, RSSI/LQI and delivery outcome) to compute PER, latency and burstiness and to parameterize the SINR-to-PER mapping and loss models. Simulations show that TDMA/TSCH achieves up to 40% lower loss than CSMA/CA, while E2E loss rises from 3% to 32% as hop count increases from 1 to 8. An MPC-based co-design jointly adapts transmit power, sampling period and retransmissions. Compared with a fixed-parameter LQR baseline, E2E PER is reduced from 4.45% to 3.66%, average delay from 0.20 s to 0.12 s, and integral absolute error by 50%. The gains are attributed to reduced contention under TDMA scheduling and predictor-driven MPC adaptation. The approach targets industrial monitoring and control with fixed sampling, slowly varying interference and static multi-hop topologies, where parameters can be identified offline and used for online MPC adaptation
  • Quality Performance Criterion Model for Distributed Automated Control Systems Based on Markov Processes for Smart Grid

    This paper addresses the problem of decision-making support for the modernization of distributed automated control systems (ACS) in power engineering by proposing an integral quality criterion that combines similarity-driven Markov process modeling with geometric programming. The methodology transforms the transition rate matrix of a continuous-time Markov chain (CTMC) into a matrix polynomial, enabling the derivation of normalized similarity indices and the development of a criterion-based model to quantify relative variations in system quality without requiring global optimization. The proposed approach yields a generalized criterion model that facilitates the ranking of modernization alternatives and the evaluation of the sensitivity of optimal decisions to parameter variations. The practical implementation is demonstrated through updated state transition graphs, quality functions, and UML-based architectures of diagnostic-ready evaluation modules. The scientific contribution of this work lies in the integration of similarity-based Markov modeling with the mathematical framework of geometric programming into a unified criterion model for the quantitative assessment of functional readiness under multistate conditions and probabilistic failures. The methodology enables the comparison of modernization scenarios using a unified integral indicator, assessment of sensitivity to structural and parametric changes, and seamless integration of quality evaluation into SCADA/Smart Grid environments as part of real-time diagnostics. The accuracy of the assessment depends on the adequacy of transition rate identification and the validity of the Markovian assumption. Future extensions include the real-time estimation of transition rates from event streams, generalization to semi-Markov processes, and multicriteria optimization considering cost, risk, and readiness.
  • Graph-based neural networks with neural ODEs for robust speech processing in environmental and human-centric systems

    This paper introduces H-STGNN-ODE-DA, a novel model for voice sentiment analysis that combines multi-scale acoustic feature extraction, hierarchical graph neural networks (GNNs), Neural Ordinary Differential Equations (Neural ODEs), and domain-adversarial adaptation. Designed to enhance accuracy and robustness under real-world conditions, the model was evaluated on IEMOCAP, MELD, and EmoDB datasets, outperforming state-of-the-art approaches such as LSTM, CNN, GCN, GAT, DANN, and SPECTRA. Notably, it achieved a 4.0% improvement over GAT on MELD. Neural ODEs enabled effective modeling of continuous emotional transitions, while domain-adversarial adaptation ensured robustness to domain shifts. Ablation studies confirmed the critical role of each component in achieving high performance. The model demonstrated strong cross-domain transferability, maintaining high accuracy across diverse recording conditions. These results position H- STGNN-ODE-DA as a robust and versatile solution for real-world applications in speech processing, including virtual assistants, social media analysis, and customer service systems.
  • Adaptive algorithms for managing mineral raw materials benefication processes for sustainable development of mining territories

    Introduction. Sustainable development of mining territories requires energy-efficient and environmentally oriented mineral beneficiation technologies. The stochastic and nonstationary nature of flotation processes necessitates the implementation of adaptive control systems. Purpose of the research. To develop and substantiate adaptive control algorithms for mineral beneficiation processes aimed at improving operational stability, energy efficiency, and environmental safety of mining enterprises. Materials and methods. Stochastic identification techniques based on input–output relationships and autoregressive moving-average models were applied. Parameter estimation was performed using the conditional maximum likelihood method with iterative procedures, including Newton’s method combined with Tikhonov regularization. Dynamic models of flotation processes with time delays and random disturbances were considered. Results. Algorithms for robust estimation of system parameters and states were developed, enabling the synthesis of adaptive control systems under model uncertainty. A functional scheme of an adaptive flotation control system was proposed to stabilize concentrate ash content in the presence of significant delays and stochastic disturbances. Discussion. The implementation of adaptive algorithms reduces variance of concentrate quality indicators, optimizes reagent consumption, and increases product yield. Regularization of iterative procedures ensures computational stability and reduces sensitivity to data inaccuracies. Conclusion. The proposed algorithms provide a scientific and practical basis for intelligent control of mineral beneficiation processes. Resume. Adaptive identification and control methods enhance flotation efficiency, reduce energy and material consumption, and improve environmental performance of mining enterprises. Suggestions for practical applications and directions for future research. Industrial implementation at beneficiation plants is recommended. Future research should focus on integration with digital mining platforms and extension of adaptive control methods to other mineral processing operations.

    This article illustrates a system for stabilizing objects in space based on integral fiber elements. The proposed system showed results commensurate with similar systems with a length of tens of kilometers of SMF-28 optical fiber, while using PANDA type optical fiber is only 200 m. In the work, a model of the system was developed and experimental studies of the response and angular velocity of the gyroscope were carried out.
  • Parallel implementation of evolutionary partial differential equations by collocation optical-electronic schemes

    The problem of parallel solution of partial differential equations with the help of the method of lines that ensures the reduction of the initial problem to the Cauchy problem described by a system of ordinary differential equations is considered. As a basic method, collocated multi-step block difference schemes are proposed. Obtaining a numerical solution in this case becomes possible only with the use of high-performance computing, usually with parallel architecture. This problem becomes especially important in the implementation of mathematical models based on systems of partial differential equations when it comes to the need for discretization of the solution search area, which can be significantly complicated by the geometric configuration of the boundaries. Solution of systems of this order cannot be obtained without involving multiprocessor computers. But by simply increasing the processing power, this problem cannot be solved. Only by combining the advantages of supercomputers and modern numerical simulation methods we can expect a significant improvement in the numerical solution of partial differential equations (PDEs).
