• The Effect of Elderly Hadrah Gymnastics on Muscle Strength and Scope of Motion of Lower Extremity Joints in Elderly with Osteoarthritis (Martapura River Region, South Kalimantan)
Bahrul Ilmi, Parellangi Parellangi, Akhmad Rizani, Hammad Hammad, Anwar Mallongi, Sukri Palutturi
Pharmacognosy Journal, 2023
Increased life expectancy (UHH) in Indonesia from 71.7 years in 2016 (Novianty, Nodia, 2018). And it is estimated to increase to 72.2 years in 2035 (BPS, 2016). The implication of increasing the number of elderly people with high UHH is expected to be healthy and productive elderly people and free from diseases and health problems, however, the results of a preliminary study in East Banjarmasin, the number of elderlies is 207 elderly (Posyandu, 2018). And almost 70% experience health problems such as osteoarthritis, so it is necessary to intervene in the form of Elderly Hadrah Gymnastics (SHL) which can increase muscle strength and scope of joint motion of the Elderly, so that the Elder can live healthy and free from osteoarthritis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of SHL on muscle strength and joint range of motion in elderly people with osteoarthritis in the Suburb area, Sungai Martapura Village, South Kalimantan Region. Quasi Experiment research design with The Non-Randomized Control Group Pretest Posttest Design approach, the population of all elderly in the Martapura River area with a total of 110 elderly (Pemko Dinkes, 2016). The research sample was the elderly living in the Martapura watershed who had osteoarthritis, non-random sampling, purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 68 elderly consisting of the control and treatment groups, each of which was 34 participants. Both groups measured muscle strength and joint range of motion before and after treatment. Data analysis used Paired T-test for paired samples and Independent T-Test for unpaired samples with normal distribution. The results of research show There is an effect of SHL on the Strength of Pelvic and Knee Muscles of the Elderly as well as the effect of SHL on the Scope of Pelvic and Knee Joints in the Elderly. In the elderly who have osteoarthritis, they should do elderly Hadrah Gymnastics regularly at least 2 times a week.
• The Mediating Role of Perceived Value on the Relationship between Quality Assurance and Student Satisfaction in Nursing Education

Pharmacognosy Journal, 2023
Objective: This study aimed to examine the connections between quality assurance, perceived value, and nursing student satisfaction. Methods: A survey was conducted with 200 nursing students in Indonesia. Data on quality assurance, perceived value, and satisfaction was gathered. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to assess the measurement and structural models. Results: PLS-SEM showed a significant positive link between quality assurance and perceived value (β=0.239, p=0.002), and between perceived value and satisfaction (β=0.510, p<0.001). However, no direct relationship was found between quality assurance and satisfaction (β=0.042, p=0.571) in the structural model. Perceived value exhibited a mediating role. Conclusion: Enhancing quality assurance in nursing schools is essential for improving students' perceived value, subsequently leading to higher satisfaction levels. However, it's crucial to note that quality alone doesn't directly impact satisfaction. Nursing schools should prioritize both quality assurance and increasing perceived value to maximize student satisfaction.
• Patient Safety Culture, Infection Prevention, and Patient Safety in the Operating Room: Health Workers’ Perspective [Letter]
- Hammad
Risk Management and Healthcare Policy, 2023
Dear editor We would like to express our appreciation to Juliasih et al for their valuable contribution through their original article titled “Patient Safety Culture, Infection Prevention, and Patient Safety in the Operating Room: Health Workers’ Perspective”. This study, conducted in Indonesia, explored how patient safety culture and infection prevention practices influence the perceptions of patient safety among 143 healthcare professionals. Despite employing a validated tool and encompassing various healthcare roles, there are notable limitations to consider. One significant limitation is the relatively small sample size per country, which constrains the generalizability of the results. To comprehensively understand safety culture across diverse hospitals and regions, larger multicentre studies with multi-centre sampling should be considered as the most suitable approach. Additionally, the study’s utilization of a cross-sectional design offers only a momentary snapshot of safety perceptions, lacking the ability to capture changes over time. To address this limitation, future research should incorporate longitudinal data collection, enabling the tracking of trends and variations in safety perceptions over extended periods. Furthermore, the reliance on self-reported surveys may introduce biases, including social desirability bias. To enhance the validity of the survey findings, it is advisable to incorporate objective safety metrics alongside self-reported data. The regression analysis in this research indicates organizational learning and infection prevention explain a very high amount (97.3%) of variance in safety scores, which seems improbably high. Other factors are likely contributing and showing multiple determinants. The study underscores the critical need for global improvements in operating room safety culture, particularly in areas such as Event Reporting and Error Response. It also highlights the positive impact of continuous learning initiatives on safety, aligning with existing literature emphasizing the importance of ongoing quality improvement processes. In conclusion, while this study provides valuable insights, it is essential to acknowledge its limitations. Future research should prioritize larger sample sizes with a multicentre approach, incorporate longitudinal data collection, integrate objective safety indicators, and explore additional factors influencing safety ratings to strengthen the robustness of the conclusions drawn from this research.

• Relationship between Vital Signs and Asthma Attack Levels of Patients having Asthmatic Episodes
Hammad Matapura, Ainun Sajidah, Heru SWN
Journal of the Dow University of Health Sciences, 2022
Objective: To analysis the relationship of vital signs of patients experiencing acute asthmatic episodes presenting in the emergency room. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the emergency department of provincial hospital, in Banjarmasin, Indonesia between July-August 2019. Subjects were studied during an acute asthmatic episode. The patient's vital signs, such as respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate were continuously and in real time monitored using observation sheets kept by nurses providing emergency care. Results: Of 220 patients with acute asthmatic attack, the mean age was 30.6 ± 9.7 years. There were 92 (41.8%) males and 128 (58.2%) females. According to the different levels of asthmatic episodes, majority 109 (49.5%) of patients had moderate level of asthmatic attack, while 66 (30.0%) patients had mild and 45 (20.5%) patients had severe asthmatic attack. Mean respiratory rate and heart rate significantly increased according to the levels of an asthma attack (mild to severe) (p-values < 0.001) respectively. Conclusion: During an acute asthmatic episode, vital signs (such as heart rate and respiratory rate) alter abnormally, indicating the need for an immediate intervention. Appropriate asthma medications, as well as diligent vital sign monitoring by nursing staff, are essential for patients with altered vital signs.
