EDUCATION

With a degree in Biology from Universidad de Sucre (Colombia) and experience in biotechnology and the biology of microorganisms, she is well-equipped to tackle any challenge. Her scientific initiation in the Agricultural Bioprospecting Research Group involved evaluating essential oils as phytosanitary alternatives for controlling root rot in avocado crops. Furthermore, she has extensive experience in microencapsulation of probiotics isolated from Brazilian cheeses. In her research, she is exploring the potential of antimicrobial peptides produced by lactic acid bacteria as an alternative for food preservation and treatment of bovine mastitis. This is an exciting area of study that has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach these issues.
