THE IMPACT OF LOW-COST DIGITAL SOLUTIONS ON EV SUPPLY CHAIN EFFICIENCY AND TRANSPARENCY - A CASE STUDY OF AN INDIAN MSME Prasad B. Mane, Abhijeet K. Digalwar, Adhithyan CS Iet Conference Proceedings, 2025 A conventional automotive supply chain includes various tiers suppliers, production, upstream and downstream logistics till the final delivery to the customer. There is a continuous exchange of information across the supply chain that needs to be seamlessly coordinated and optimised to achieve the common objective of customer delight. Electric vehicles (EVs) offer some key challenges such as sourcing of EV batteries, the minerals within these batteries, and motors demanding constant supplier communications. A supply chain transformation with digital solutions can bring strategic competitive advantage as it allows companies to utilise deep analytics to optimise inventory and make decisions to enhance the overall supply chain efficiency. Today, it has become imperative to get greater access to information about the products and processes across the supply chain for the benefit of all the stakeholders including the consumers buying it. The current study presented a real-life case of implementation of low-cost digital solution by a MSME from India engaged in manufacturing EV components. The company developed a low-cost parts tracking solution using an agile framework that included designing solution components and a software program for automating part tracking and minimising material wastage. The results showed significant improvement in supply chain efficiency and transparency.
Towards sustainable automobile ecosystem in India: Integrated analysis of technical, economic, and ESG dimensions Prasanna G. Tillu, Abhijeet K. Digalwar, Sudhanshu Ranjan Singh, Ravi S. Reosekar Cleaner Environmental Systems, 2024 Global environmental concerns are leading to paradigm shift in the automobile eco-system. This comprehensive study of the automobile ecosystem, incorporates technical, economic, and environmental-social-governance (ESG) dimensions. An “integrated multi-criteria decision-making” (MCDM) methodology using “interpretive structural modelling” (ISM) and “fuzzy analytical hierarchy process” (FAHP) is deployed, The ISM models highlights prominent drivers and critical barriers, establishes their hierarchy, and depicts interrelationships. The FAHP rankings for drivers favours electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel vehicles over others, while barriers promote hybrids and alternate fuels like Biofuel, CNG/LNG. Unlike previous works, this study considers all eco-system factors, both critical drivers and barriers, and demonstrates hierarchy using a unique V-model. This is an innovative extension of V-model from traditional systems engineering to strategic project management domain. This holistic approach, in sync with the natural state of things, will enable government, industry, and academia in formulating a strategic framework towards future automobile sustainability.
