Brazilian percussionist Eduardo Gianesella played for 29 years (1994 – 2022) at São Paulo Symphony Orchestra and left the orchestra to become a full time percussion teacher at São Paulo State University – UNESP, where he was teaching part time 1993. He is also a member of Percorso Ensemble (contemporary music). He started his percussion studies at Music Conservatory of Tatuí, then graduated at São Paulo State University (UNESP) in 1987, earned a percussion master’s degree from Eastman School of Music (USA) in 1990 and concluded his doctorate at University of São Paulo in 2009. He is also a former member of the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra, the Experimental Repertoire Orchestra and the São Paulo State Symphony Band and has recorded many CDs and has extensevely toured Europe, the 3 Americas, China and Japan with the several groups he has played with. He is also an active teacher at the major music festivals in Brazil and has taught workshops and masterclasses around the world.
