Olufemi Samuel Amoo
Amoo Olufemi Samuel is a Biochemist and Geneticist with research interest in infectious diseases and host pathogen interactions. He is currently the Head of Centre, Centre for Human Virology and Genomics, NIMR, a position he was appointed to head in 2022. He is the Research Lead, Blood Genetics and Transfusion Research, that he hope to nurture to become a research department in Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, NIMR.
Research Scientist, he conducts research into infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Lassa fever, Cholera, Yellow fever and other viral hemorrhagic fever using biochemistry, immunogenetics, digital health, bioinformatics, molecular, genetics and computational biology techniques. He is passionate about ensuring most of the diseases of public health interest in Nigeria is addressed and influencing health policy to better the health of Nigerians. He is an innovator and award winning Research Fellow/Scientist.
