  • Learning styles according to Entwistle model and their relationship to mathematical excellence among scientific fifth-grade female students
Maysoon Sultan Naithel, Lina Fouad Jawad
Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology, 2024
The objective of the present study is to determine the nature and direction of the correlation between mathematical excellence and learning styles as defined by the Entwistle, model in fifth-grade scientific female students. The descriptive correlational approach was implemented by the two researchers to accomplish the research objectives. A scale was developed to assess the learning styles of female students in the sample in accordance with the Entwistle, model. : (Knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, systematic thinking, creativity), and the research community was determined by the female students of the scientific fifth grade in the morning preparatory and secondary schools of the General Directorate of Education of Baghdad/Al-Karkh I, which were chosen randomly and consisted of (204) students, the data were statistically analyzed using the (23-SPSS) program, and the t-test was employed to calculate the arithmetic mean, the hypothesized average of the scale, the standard deviation, the Cronbach alpha equation, and the Pearson correlation coefficient of the students in order to confirm the validity and reliability of the two tools. The researchers obtained a variety of results, such as the statistically significant correlation between mathematical excellence among fifth-grade scientific female students and each learning style according to the Entwistle, model. This suggests that the female students in the study have well-developed mathematical excellence. The researchers propose that comparable investigations be implemented at different educational levels.
  • The effectiveness of a proposed strategy according to the Fraunhofer model of knowledge management in the achievement of second intermediate female students in mathematics
Azraa Ahmed Abdullah Misharar, Lina Fouad Jawad Al-Ameer
Edelweiss Applied Science and Technology, 2024
The goal of the research is to identify the effectiveness of using a proposed strategy according to the Fraunhofer model of knowledge management in mathematics achievement for second-grade female students in middle and high schools affiliated with the General Directorate of Education in Baghdad / Al-Karkh II. The objective was to prove the following null hypothesis: "The average scores of the experimental group who will study with the proposed strategy according to the Fraunhofer model and the scores of the control group students who will study in the usual way in the mathematics achievement test are not statistically significant different at the significance level (0.05)." The General Directorate of Education of Baghdad / Al-Karkh II identified the research population, which represents middle and secondary schools for girls. Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her) middle school was specifically selected as the research sample, which was divided into two groups and included sixty-one female students in the second middle grade. For the experimental group, represented by Section (A), there were thirty-three female students; for the control group, represented by Section (C), there were twenty-eight female students. Achievement test was developed to gather data for the study. Its final form included 36 objective items of the multiple choice type with four alternatives. Parity was carried out statistically between the female students of the experimental and control groups in the variables (previous achievement in mathematics, previous mathematical knowledge, intelligence). Appropriate statistical techniques were applied when administering the test to the female students in the experimental and control groups (difficulty and ease coefficient, discrimination coefficient, efficacy of alternatives). After the two researchers applied suitable statistical techniques to analyze the data and administer a test like the Leaven's test, the results showed that teaching with the suggested strategy according to the Fraunhofer model of knowledge management has a significant impact in improving the achievement of the female students of the experimental group compared to the control group. Its psychometric properties were acknowledged.
  • Computer Literacy with Skills of Seeking for Information Electronically among University Students
Zainab Hazim Ibrahim, Ban Hassan Majeed, Lina Fouad Jawad
International Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies, 2023
Computer literacy is an urgent necessity for university students, given the rapid development in the means of communication in which we live in this era, and the flow of abundant information. Mainly on the computer in all administrative and academic transactions, where first of all the registration for the semester is done through the computer. Computer culture has many characteristics and advantages that distinguish it from other sciences, including the concept of computer culture that cannot be defined absolutely, and it is difficult to define its levels, because the specifications of the computer-educated individual differ from one individual to another, and from time to time also, you find it a luxury in a country What, and you find it necessary in another country. In order to measure and know the level of computer culture among university students, a computerized scale of (40) items with five multiple-choice alternatives were built. In order to know that they have the skills of searching for information electronically, a computerized scale of (21) items were prepared, and a five-point Likert scale was adopted. Results showed that they have computer literacy and therefore they have skills of searching for information electronically at all.

  • Computational Thinking (CT) Among University Students
Ban Hassan Majeed, Lina Fouad Jawad, Haider Th.Salim Alrikabi
International Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies, 2022
Computational Thinking (CT) is very useful in the process of solving everyday problems for undergraduates. In terms of content, computational thinking involves solving problems, studying data patterns, deconstructing problems using algorithms and procedures, doing simulations, computer modeling, and reasoning about abstract things. However, there is a lack of studies dealing with it and its skills that can be developed and utilized in the field of information and technology used in learning and teaching. The descriptive research method was used, and a test research tool was prepared to measure the level of (CT) consisting of (24) items of the type of multiple-choice to measure the level of "CT". The research study group consists of (100) third-year students studying at the University of Baghdad in Computer Science within the scope of (2020-2021). The results are detailed.

Lina Fouad Jawad, Ban Hassan Majeed, Haider TH. Salim ALRikabi
International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning, 2021
The aim of the research is to find out the effect of applying classroom assessment techniques (CATs) on both mathematical and logical thinking among fourth-grade scientific students. In pursuit of the research objectives, the experimental method was used, and the quasi-experimental design was used for two equivalent groups, one control group taught in the traditional way and the other experimental taught according to the techniques of classroom structural evaluation. The research sample consisted of (44) students from the fourth scientific grade who were intentionally chosen after ensuring their equivalence in several factors, most notably chronologi-cal age and the level of mathematics, and they were distributed equally among the two groups. To implement the research, three tools were built, represented in the teacher's handbook for applying the class formative assessment, the mathematical reasoning test, and the logical thinking test. The two researchers applied the exper-iment in the first semester of the academic year (2019/2020) AD. The two re-searchers applied the techniques of class formative assessment to the experimental group, while the control group studied according to the usual method, and then the mathematical thinking test and the dimensional logical thinking test were applied. On the experimental and control groups. The results showed that there were statis-tically significant differences between the mean scores of the two groups on the mathematical thinking test, and there were also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the two groups on the logical reasoning test. The size of the effect of applying the class formative assessment on both thinking was calcu-lated, and it appeared that it had a clear effect on both mathematical thinking and logical thinking. In light of the results, the two researchers recommended a number of recommendations.

Lina Fouad Jawad, Muayad Kadhim Raheem, Ban Hassan Majeed
International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning, 2021
The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of the educational pillars strategy based on Vygotsky's theory in mathematical achievement and information processing of first-grade intermediate students. In pursuit of the research objectives, the experimental method was used, and the quasi-experimental design was used for two equivalent groups, one control group taught traditionally and the other experi-mental taught according to the educational pillars strategy. The research sample consisted of (66) female students from the first intermediate grade, who were inten-tionally chosen after ensuring their equivalence, taking into account several factors, most notably chronological age and their level of mathematics, and they were dis-tributed equally into two groups, one experimental and the other control. The re-search tools were represented in the teacher's handbook for the application of the educational pillars strategy, the achievement test in mathematics, and the test of information processing skills. The researchers applied the experiment in the first semester of the (2019/2020) academic year. One of the researchers taught the ex-perimental group by applying the educational pillars strategy, while the control group studied according to the usual method. The mathematical achievement test and the data processing skill test were applied to the experimental and control re-search groups, and then the data necessary for statistical analysis and access to results were obtained. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the two groups and control groups in the mathematical achievement test. There were also statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the two groups on the test of the skill of information processing, and the size of the effect was calculated by describing a function of the effectiveness of the strategy on the two independent variables (mathematics achievement, information processing), as it became clear that the educational pillars strategy based on Vygotsky's theory has great effectiveness. On mathematics achievement and on developing students' information processing skills
