Role of Stem Cells in the Management of Type-I Diabetes Mellitus Arjun Arjun HR, Praveen Halagali, Y Mohammed Tausi, Paramakrishnan N Paramakrishnan, Rakshith UR Rakshith Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, 2023 Abstract: The paper aims to accent Type-1 DM along with its etiology, pathophysiology, and treatment in this review. Diabetes is considered the chronic ailment of hypoglycemia ensuing from the duo of the dearth of insulin action and secretion of insulin considered as both. Moreover, Type-1 is a result of autoimmune of the cells of islets of the pancreas. The confrontation to the insulin or secretion of insulin lacking due to changes in living standards, habit change, dearth of exercise along with aging also, but one of the most relevant and prevalent reasons is a lifestyle change and also change in food habits along with the stress of the day-to-day life. Stem cell therapy is an expensive treatment and obtaining stem cells also is difficult due to ethical issues and availability is also less. Presently accessible ailment for type-1 is insulin supply therapy but it is also associated with many hitches. Advanced replacements like islets have demonstrated fruitful results in reinstating glucose levels. Moreover, in severe type 1-DMM and it has been delimited due to its high cost, not economic process, shortfall of donors, etc. Replacement of beta-like cells that are obtained from differentiation of human Pluripotent Stem Cells (hPSCs) also exhibited results with flying colors and gained the spotlight, but in stem cell therapy getting beta cells along with complete insulin secretion is decisive. Artificial Intelligence's Contribution To Mental Health Education Neha Anand, Lalit Mohan Pant, Tanweer Alam, Sumit Pundir, Lims Thomas, U.R. Rakshith 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Data Communication Systems Icscds 2023 Proceedings, 2023 As AI offers a suitable response to various challenges associated with this disease, it plays a crucial role in mental health. A fundamental concept of the AI-based mental health remedy and its impact on directly affecting social-emotional learning has also been examined in this study with the appropriate material and references. The many types of AI that may unquestionably aid in general mental health education have already been specifically outlined in this research using all the data from existing books and publications. In addition to this, an AI-based chatbot platform has been built within the software system to identify various health factors that seem to be directly linked to mental health. The main challenges in this regard remained consistent with other AI-related healthcare systems including concerns for privacy and confidentiality apart from data integrity.
A Review on Palmoplantar Keratodermas Vishal Anand SS, Rakshith UR, Srikanth MS International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Nanotechnology, 2022 A palmoplantar keratoderma is a group of hereditary, keratinization disorders characterised by hyperkeratotic thickening of the palms and soles. PPK presents in three forms namely diffuse, focal & punctate. The aetiological factors of Palmoplantar keratoderma are drug-related, chemical-related, systemic disease-related, infection-related, & idiopathic. Palmoplantar keratodermas are diagnosed based on their clinical manifestations and forms. Tiny raindrop-shaped lesions, which are relatively uncommon in nature are one of the clinical symptoms of Type-I PPK. The papules are round and hyperkeratotic and the lesions are yellow to flesh-coloured, well-circumscribed, and firm to the touch. Type-II usually presents with small spines to protrude from the palms and soles whereas Type-III is characterised by tiny flat or umbilicated keratotic shining papules to form along the palms, soles, and digits borders. The prevalence of PPK is less among Indian populations hence managing these conditions might be more challenging due to limited treatment options. However, managing these conditions is based on the classifications and their presentation.
Development and validation of tool to assess the perception, expectation & satisfaction about the patient care services provided by the community pharmacist Atiqulla Shariff, U.R. Rakshith, M.S. Srikanth Clinical Epidemiology and Global Health, 2021 Problem considered: Apart from dispensing of medicines, the new generation community pharmacists are engaged in various extended community pharmacy services. The main endorsement of these services primarily depends on understanding the end-users’ views about the quality of care provided. However, there are no validated tools available that can assess these parameters. Methods: Therefore, we aimed to develop and validate a tool that can assess the perceptions, expectations and satisfactions of patient care services provided by the community pharmacist. Following a comprehensive literature search, a thirty-two-item scale was developed and was subjected for content validation. Results: The item level content validity index (I-CVI) and scale level content validity index (S-CVI) was found to be 80%. The Cronbach's alpha score was 0.8, suggesting a satisfactory co-efficient of reliability. Conclusion: The scale to assess the perceptions, expectations and satisfactions of patient care services provided by the community pharmacist was developed and validated.
