Journal of Physics Condensed Matter, 2025 This study focuses on the analysis of variation in the magnetic properties as a function of x in La1−x Mg x MnO3 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8) perovskite manganites prepared by solution combustion synthesis using oxalic acid as the fuel. All the samples exhibit transition from ferromagnetic to paramagnetic behavior, with Curie temperatures (T C) ranging from 52 to 33 K, as per the M–T and M–H measurements observed using a SQUID-VSM. The materials show ferromagnetic behavior at 5 K and paramagnetism at 300 K. These magnetic behavioral changes are correlated with the structural changes caused by the varied Mg incorporation into the La1−x Mg x MnO3 lattice. The structural, morphological, compositional and surface chemical analyses of the prepared nanoparticles were studied using x-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results show that Mg doping alters the magnetic ordering of the LaMnO3 nanoparticles, making it a promising candidate for spintronics applications.
Impact of Gd doping on structural and magnetic characteristics of SrFeO3 perovskite nanomaterial T Sindhu, A T Ravichandran, A Robert Xavier, K Sofiya, M Kumaresavanji Journal of Physics Condensed Matter, 2024 The SrFeO3 nanoparticles doped with 5% and 10% Gd were synthesized using the solution combustion method. The phase formation of the synthesized nanoparticles was confirmed by powder x-ray diffraction analysis. Field emission scanning electron microscope and HRTEM were employed to examine the morphology of the samples, revealing well-ordered, agglomerated nanoparticles. Energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy analysis was conducted on all samples, confirming the presence of the desired elements. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirmed the presence of mixed oxidation states of Fe3+ and Fe4+. Magnetization studies, performed using a SQUID magnetometer, showed ferromagnetic behaviour in all samples, with a significant increase in magnetic moment observed with higher Gd doping. The enhanced magnetic moments and reduced coercivity in Gd-doped SrFeO3 suggest that these materials could be suitable for spintronic applications.
