Nuryani Tri Rahayu, was born in Kulonprogo, Special Region of Yogyakarta in 1963. Her Bachelor of Communication Science was completed at FISIPOL, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta in 1987. Her Master of Communication Science with a concentration in Communication Theory and Research was completed in 2003 at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. The Cultural Studies Doctoral Program education will be completed in January 2022 at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta.
Since 1995 until now he has served as a lecturer at the Communication Science Study Program, FISIP, Veteran Bangun Nusantara University, Sukoharjo. The courses taught include Social Research Methods, Communication Research Methods, Mass Communication, and Cultural Communication.

Deconstructing the meaning of symbols in the Sekaten tradition to support the inheritance of Javanese cultural values in the Era of Freedom of Learning
The preservation of the Sekaten tradition is threatened due to objectification and commercialization under economic pretexts. The meaning of cultural symbols containing local wisdom values is no longer understood by the millennial generation, they are considered ancient and irrelevant with current conditions. The decline of traditional arts and culture is caused by globalization and the emergence of an era of disruption. Various new communication media have caused modern, new, popular and profane culture to emerge, eroding traditional culture. On the other hand, the government's policy regarding Independent Learning opens up opportunities for the community to participate in improving the quality of education through the development of various learning resources.
