Acoustical behavior of camellia sinensis/ananas comosus fiber based uni-directional corrugated panel for sound damping application N Karthi, S Gokulkumar, S Sathish, U S Rajkumar Materials Research Express, 2022 To achieve a durable, rigid, and lightweight construction material, a new class of Camellia sinensis/Ananas comosus fiber-enhanced corrugated sandwich panel was designed and produced. The crushed core layer comprises sinusoidal corrugation and is manufactured by a method of mould pressing in an attempt to assess this material’s sound absorption ability. In addition, the influence of airgap and micro perforation on sound absorption properties was investigated. The samples with a greater perforation ratio and air gap are found to have a noise reduction coefficient (NRC) of 0.745, which can be used to attenuate mid- and high-range frequencies in industrial environments.
Tribological and Thermo-Mechanical Performance of Chemically Modified Musa Acuminata / Corchorus Capsularis Reinforced Hybrid Composites N Karthi, K Kumaresan, G Rajeshkumar, S Gokulkumar, S Sathish Journal of Natural Fibers, 2022 This paper explores the tribological efficiency of Musa acuminata (B – Banana)/Corchorus capsularis (J – Jute) fibers reinforced epoxy-based tribo-composites which was fabricated by varying the content of these fibers (MC1 – 15 wt.% of Banana and 15 wt.% of Jute, MC2 – 20 wt.% of Banana and 20 wt.% of Jute and MC3 – 25 wt.% of Banana and 25 wt.% of Jute) by means of the compression molding method. The pin-on-disk dry wear check was carried out by varying the load conditions (20, 40 and 60 N) and sliding distance (602.88, 1205.76 and 1808.64 m). The experimental outcomes disclosed that the hybrid composites have superior properties than the single fiber-reinforced composites. Moreover, the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze the damaged surfaces of the samples.

V, Sowndharya S, Karthi N, Dhiyaneswaran J Proceedings of the International Conference on Electronics and Renewable Systems Icears 2022, 2022 In the development of technologies, over time, the industry has adopted new paradigms, the IoT is not the exception, and thanks to the development of electronic components, sensors and actuators with the ability to measure multiple physical parameters can be found. Mechanics, among others, in this work a methodology is developed to be able to evaluate the work and operation of the most well-known power generators such as power generation sub stations, in the methodology a mechanism is presented to control the operating parameters of the sub-stations based on the PIC24FJ128GA705 microcontroller, which works with the MQTT protocols for data capture, web services based on the HTTP protocol as an application server and client, the results of the methodology allow evaluating remotely and in time actual operating parameters such as operating time, temperature, fuel level, c output current, output voltage among others.
Extraction, Treatment and Applications of Bio Fiber Composites A Critical Review S. Sathish, L. Prabhu, S. Gokulkumar, N. Karthi, D. Balaji, N. Vigneshkumar Composite and Composite Coatings Mechanical and Tribology Aspects, 2022 Sustainable and eco-friendly products are gaining more attention in various engineering industries owing to their considerable strength-to-weight ratio, abundant availability and recyclability. The properties of bio fibers depend on the cultivation method, environmental conditions and extraction method. Bio fibers are extracted by dew retting, water retting and mechanical decortication. The properties of natural fiber–reinforced composites can be enhanced by proper chemical treatments. The intent of this assessment is to propose a complete evaluation of the different extraction methods, methods of treating fiber using chemicals and industrial applications of natural fiber–reinforced composites. Key findings from various existing data and the chemical treatment consequences of the bio fiber–reinforced composite properties are specifically highlighted with critical assessment.
Physical and Mechanical Properties of Randomly Oriented Natural Fiber Hybrid Composites for Exterior Applications N. Karthi, D. Balaji, N. Vignesh Kumar, L. Feroz Ali, D. Abilash, S. Akash, G. Gajendran Materials Science Forum, 2022 Researchers are envisaging in the replacement of the metal and its alloys with natural materials for its superior availability and inferior cost. Although the natural fibers are available in abundant, the issue is their strength and thermal property which are considerably lower than conventional materials. This inferior property lieu put aside of using it for many applications. In order to overcome that the natural materials are hybridized to obtain the combined properties of individual materials. In the current work, natural fibers like hemp, banana and bamboo fibers were reinforced in epoxy resin and their mechanical and water absorption properties were evaluated. Main application considered now are in external casing for many devices like motors, generators and so on wherein the material should capable to work with the moisture along with mechanical strength. The material is developed specifically for this external application with relevant test like absorption of moisture and mechanical tests. It could be noted from the results that a tensile strength, flexural strength, impact strength and inter-laminar shear strength of 35.51 MPa, 96.99 MPa, 4.86 J and 3.6 MPa respectively has been obtained for sample with 30 % hemp fibers. Alongside, minimum voids and water absorption were obtained for the same composite configuration. These test reveals that these variants could effectively replaces the external metal casing in harsh environment
Retraction: Vehicle Speed Control and Accident Prevention System in Smog Zone M Kathirvelu, A C Nithia shree, M Manasa, L Naveen, N Karthi Journal of Physics Conference Series, 2021 The air quality index (AQI) is a proportion of what air contamination means for one’s wellbeing inside a brief timeframe. The higher the AQI esteem, the more noteworthy the degree of air contamination. In a smog zone, the air pollutants can be detected with an air quality detector that will provide information about invisible toxic pollutant matters present in the air. This paper is concentrated on vehicle collision avoidance in smog places. For instance in the road, the driver suffers from unclear vision because PM (Particulate Matter) enters his/her eyes which leads to vehicle collision. A vehicle collision avoidance system with a microcontroller and onboard sensors in the smog zone is developed. It mainly focuses on the digital driver-vehicle interface implementation by using CAN protocol. The framework of CAN lessens wiring by and large. In this system, information like humidity, temperature, and distance is obtained. The humidity module measures both the temperature and humidity content and an the ultrasonic sensor is adjusted to gauge the distance between the object and vehicle, if a hindrance is identified inside 300cm from the vehicle, the alarm gives a signal to the driver. Once an individual vehicle enters the smog zone, it lowers the speed.
