Mr. Mukunda .B. G. is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Travel and Tourism, Mount Carmel College, Autonomous, Bangalore in imparting knowledge for Under Graduate students in B.Voc (Hospitality and Tourism), B.Com (Travel and Tourism), HTT, JTT and PYTT. He has total of 9 years teaching experience out of which 8 years of Post-Graduation experience in imparting knowledge for M.T.A. / M.T.T.M. Integrated students. He was also been served as Head of the Department for 3 years in the Department of Travel and Tourism Management. He has completed his Post-Graduation in Master of Tourism Administration 5 Years Integrated Course from KLE’s S. Nijalingappa College, Bangalore and specialized in Tourism Administration and Management in the year 2013 and cleared UGC NET and K-SET in Tourism Administration and Management.     Social media has become an essential tool for marketing communication in the hospitality sector, facilitating customer awareness, enhancing brand recognition, and supporting business growth. Its influence on consumer behavior has encouraged hospitality organizations, including hotels and restaurants, to integrate social media as a key marketing channel. Social media platforms offer unique opportunities for improving revenue, building customer relationships, and strengthening brand identity. With the expansion of digital platforms and evolving consumer preferences, this study explores best practices in social media marketing specifically for the hospitality industry. Urban hospitality in India, particularly in Bangalore, is experiencing a significant digital transformation, with social media emerging as a dominant channel for branding and customer interaction. This conceptual study investigates how social media strategies shape digital branding outcomes for urban hotels.

    The movies or films which are depicted in the electronic media grabs the attention of the tourists in attracting the potential tourism destinations. This study mainly focuses on exploring various potentials and impacts of marketing and promotion of film Induced Tourism in Karnataka. In this research article the researchers used the descriptive research approach to collect the relevant data. The extensive secondary data is reviewed to understand and analyse The Film Induced tourism has both positive and adverse effects on the promotion of tourism destinations in Karnataka. The study found that the marketing and promotion of Film Induced Tourism in Karnataka helps in drawing the attention of National and International Tourists to the state of KarnatakaThe concept of Film Induced Tourism is one of the Unique ways in displaying the tourism attractions in the unique manner in such a way that through audio-visual screens with story lines has significant impact on tapping the potential tourists towards the destinations in Karnataka.
  • Impact of artificial intelligence on the tourism industry: Indian perspectives

    In technology-driven times, artificial intelligence technology is one of the most innovative inventions that have revolutionized various industries across the globe. Marketers provide the virtual journey to the customers into the hotels and tourism spots by partnering themselves with the hotels, and tourism destinations. The purpose of this study is to highlight the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the tourism industry in India. The various technologies are being integrated to improve the service and customer experience in tourism. The expected changes and challenges in tourism in the future are focused in this chapter. The findings of the study reveal that AI offers travel services that are automated, customized, and insightful. Tourism marketers' also see a positive and improved change that will enhance the tourists' overall experience due to the application of AI. The chapter discusses the application and role of AI and Robotics with the help of relevant industry examples and theory. The study is exploratory in nature and relies upon survey of relevant literature.

    Sculpture tourism is a form of tourism which includes exploring different places associated with sculpture and learning about it first hand. Shivarapattana is one of the heritage and sculpture villages famous for stone sculptures. Located in the Malur Taluk of Kolar District in Karnataka, it is surely a place worth visiting especially for a sculpture enthusiast. The main occupation of eighty percentage of the local community here works on crafting idols mostly in stone. The village is a non-descript rural tourism village in Karnataka. Community-based tourism can help the village to bring up entrepreneurial business opportunities among the local community and enhance rural development, subsequently helping the villagers realize reasonable economic returns on the investment and reducing the economic leakages. The focus and aim of this study are to know about the significance of community-based tourism in promotion of sculpture tourism and also to identify prospects and problems faced by the people involved in marking this sculpture village as a prominent rural destination in the tourism map of Karnataka. To complete the study and to derive the necessary findings data has been collected through questionnaire. For analysis, relevant statistical tools were used.
