  • IEZ-Source Inverter Topology with Tuned PID Controller of Carrier SPWM Technique in Grid Connected System
    P. Kannan, S. Arockia Edwin Xavier
Journal of Circuits Systems and Computers, 2024
Z-source inverters are used in controller applications, which offer higher performance than the buck-boost converter. This work presents the Improved Embedded Z (IEZ)-source inverter used for the impedance network. The Z-source inverter includes the switching topologies, so the double inductor is added to the EZ source inverter circuit. IEZ source inverter manages the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and the PID controller controls the inverter voltage. The Social Ski Driver (SSD) Optimization algorithm is used to tune the parameters of the PID controller. The harmonic content of the Z-source inverter is reduced by the carrier based sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique. The Improved Embedded Z-source Inverter (IE-ZSI) is utilized to apply a grid-connected system. The inverters receive the power from the DC voltage and supply the grid-connected load with controllable voltage. The proposed work is implemented in the platform MATLAB/SIMULINK to evaluate the performance of the voltage across the capacitor, the voltage across the inductor, grid current and grid voltage. Inverter DC link voltage performance was compared to conventional Z-source inverters and embedded Z-source inverters. The proposed work achieved 1.52% THD compared with existing techniques.

A CRN integrated with a synchronized wireless info and power transference (SWIPT) scheme. This network comprises a multi-antenna base station serving as the secondary transmitter, a designated data receiver substitute as the secondary headset, many registered prime operators operating in their respective spectrum bands, and several energy-harvesting receivers (EHRs). The base station provides both energy and information through its signals, and every EHR employs power piercing to excerpt energy since the established indication. Taking into account defective network state info at the information receiver, we originate a locked-system logical appearance for the privacy outage possibility of the network.
  • CNN-Based Automated Detection of Wax Coating on Apples
    M. Nagaraju Naik, D. Pratyusha, P. Kannan, K. Shilpa, M. Sandhyarani, G. Charles Babu
Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Ubiquitous Computing and Intelligent Information Systems Icuis 2024, 2024
Implementing precise and effective quality control measures during postharvest processing is essential for upholding the standards of agricultural products. Conventional approaches to evaluating wax coatings on apples, commonly utilized to improve glossiness and extend shelf life, frequently depend on laborintensive and subjective manual evaluations, resulting in inconsistencies and inefficiencies. This study introduces a CNN-based model aimed at automated detecting wax coatings on apples, thereby providing a robust and scalable solution to address existing gaps in the field. Utilizing a diverse dataset comprising high-resolution apple images has resulted in notable improvements, achieving an accuracy of 96.4% in the model's performance. Furthermore, the model demonstrates exceptional performance across critical metrics, achieving a precision of 95.9%, a recall of 96.5%, and an F1-score of 96.2%. Additionally, it results in an AUC-ROC of 0.98, highlighting its substantial discriminative capability. The multiclass classification approach effectively differentiates between the Uncoated, Thin Wax Coating, and Thick Wax Coating categories. However, some minor misclassifications are observed between the thin and thick coatings. The results show that the model can change post-harvest processing by reducing the need for manual work, making things more consistent, and making it easier to check quality in real-time. The proposed approach represents a notable advancement in modernizing agricultural quality control practices, enhancing efficiency and reliability throughout the supply chain.

    K. Little Flower, P. Siva Padmini, Sk. Rabbani, Krishna Kishore Datti, P. Kannan, V. Vivekanandhan
8th International Conference on Electronics Communication and Aerospace Technology Iceca 2024 Proceedings, 2024
A crop of global importance, potatoes are particularly vulnerable to illnesses that can result in large losses for farmers. Conventional detection techniques, which depend on manual inspection, are frequently time-consuming and prone to human mistake. In order to overcome this, Transfer Learning was combined with Convolutional NeuralNetworks (CNNs) to create an improved disease detection method, utilizing pre-trained models like ResNet50 and VGG16. A collection of more than $\\mathbf{3 0, 0 0 0}$ high-resolution images of potato leaves, categorized into healthy and diseased classes, was used to evaluate the effectiveness of this technique. Through model optimization and data augmentation, the methodology yielded an accuracy of about $\\mathbf{9 9 \\%}$, much surpassing that of conventional models such as Random Forest and Support Vector Machines, which yielded approximately 88% and 85% accuracy, respectively. Furthermore, the model’s effectiveness and scalability were demonstrated by the application of Transfer Learning, which cut training time by almost 40%. This invention provided a reliable approach for early and accurate disease management in potato cultivation, improving accuracy over traditional methods by 11%. Journal of Engineering Science and Technology Review, 2024
The ternary logic has a benefit over the binary logic which provides a secured solution to achieve a trade-off between the area and power of the design. However, from the structure of the ternary Aritmetic Logic Unit (ALU), it is clear that its architecture increases the area, propagation delay, and power consumption. To overcome this drawback, a loopback algorithm is proposed to achieve low power and high throughput Internet of Things (IoT) processors. The loopback algorithm reduces the number of processing stages in multipliers and adders which can significantly reduce area and power dissipation. The proposed 2:1 multiplexer-based approach reduces the need for a decoder and results in low power consumption. The proposed design will be implemented in Xilinx ISE 13.0 and simulation will be done in Modelsim. The modified Ternary ALU (TALU) performs finer than the previous TALU method. The number of registers used in this architecture is reduced by up to 25% than the existing system therefore there is a reduction in power dissipation.

Proceedings 2022 6th International Conference on Intelligent Computing and Control Systems Iciccs 2022, 2022
The bearing is a very important part of rotating machinery because it has a very high failure rate. If the high failure rate in bearing would affect the entire performance of the machinery equipment. In this paper, we present a method for extracting ball-bearing fault features of the Ball Bearing fault. An algorithm for detecting bearing faults using Wavelet Packet Transforms (WPT). Wavelet Packet Transform is used to extract the bearing signal's time-frequency characteristic. Then the Statistical feature Extraction for rolling bearing. ML Algorithm model to recognize the healthy conditions of rotating machinery. The frequency-domaining signals are used to feed the input network. The proposed method is validated using data from Case Western Reserve University's bearing data center. This will demonstrate that both steady-state and unsteady-state situations can be successfully diagnosed by the machine learning algorithm. Instead of using traditional feature technology. The algorithm in this paper has improved defect diagnostics and feature extraction.
