Local wisdom as the basis for environmental policy innovation with the practice of sea sasi and sago hamlets in Papua’s ecological governance Muhammad Sawir, Muhammad Younus, Eliza Meiyani, Rindi Kosasi Discover Environment, 2026 This study explores how local wisdom in Papua—specifically the customary practices of ‘sasi laut’ and traditional sago forest management—serves as a foundational basis for environmental policy innovation. These community-based systems embody sustainable ecological governance deeply rooted in indigenous knowledge, cultural values, and long-standing stewardship traditions. By conducting qualitative analysis in selected coastal and lowland areas, the research investigates how these customary mechanisms can be meaningfully integrated into formal environmental policy frameworks. The study emphasizes the importance of recognizing indigenous institutions not merely as cultural artifacts, but as dynamic systems capable of informing contemporary governance. Findings reveal that hybrid governance models—those that bridge traditional ecological practices with modern public policy instruments—offer promising pathways for inclusive, adaptive, and resilient environmental management in Papua. Such models foster collaboration between local communities, government agencies, and civil society, ensuring that environmental policies are contextually grounded and socially legitimate. Ultimately, the research contributes to broader discussions on decolonizing policy approaches and enhancing sustainability through culturally responsive governance.
Datafication of agriculture through measuring of corporate value and socio-ecological impacts of data assetization in Indonesia’s Agri-Tech sector Musdalipa, Muhammad Younus, Eliza Meiyani, Sumiati Discover Applied Sciences, 2026 The rapid digitalization of agriculture has transformed farm-level information into valuable corporate assets, a process known as data assetization. This study investigates the impact of agricultural data assetization on corporate value and socio-ecological outcomes in Indonesia’s agri-tech sector. Using a quantitative explanatory design with 300 farmers (150 platform users and 150 non-users) across four provinces (Java and Bali), this study operationalized three constructs: the Data Assetization Index (DAI), the Corporate Value Proxy Index (CVPI), and the Socio-Ecological Impact Index (SEII). Data were collected through structured surveys and supported by aggregated platform metrics. Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was employed to test the hypotheses. Results indicate that data assetization has a positive influence on corporate value (β = 0.421, p < 0.01), while also having mixed socio-ecological impacts (β = 0.187, p < 0.05). Corporate value shows a partial trade-off with socio-ecological sustainability (β = −0.162, p < 0.10). Moderation analysis reveals that digital literacy enhances the positive effects of assetization on socio-ecological outcomes, while policy support reduces the trade-off effect. This research contributes to global debates on digital capitalism in agriculture by providing quantitative evidence from an emerging economy. The findings underscore the need for balanced strategies that align corporate profitability with socio-ecological resilience. Turning farm data into business assets boosts company profits but can harm the environment. Farmers’ digital skills and supportive policies help balance profit growth with sustainability. Proper data governance can ensure technology benefits both farmers and the planet.
THE RULE OF LAW AS A LEGAL ANALYSIS: INSTITUTIONAL PERFORMANCE AND PUBLIC GOVERNANCE IMPLICATIONS Syafhendry Syafhendry, Andi Luhur Prianto, Muhammad Younus, Halimah Abdul Manaf Corporate Law and Governance Review, 2026 This study examines the implementation of the rule of law through civil and criminal justice systems in Indonesia within an electoral democratic context, focusing on institutional performance and public governance implications. The study adopts a qualitative research design integrating doctrinal legal analysis, normative interpretation, and bibliometric techniques. Secondary data were collected from peer-reviewed publications indexed in Dimension AI and Google Scholar, alongside institutional data from the World Justice Project’s (WJP) Rule of Law Index. Scientometric analysis using VOSViewer was employed to map dominant research themes, scholarly networks, and trends related to civil and criminal justice (Zulfa, 2020; Zulaeha & Mangkurat, 2023). The findings indicate that Indonesia’s civil and criminal justice systems contribute to the rule of law at a moderate level but continue to face structural challenges, including procedural delays, institutional capacity constraints, and public trust deficits. Bibliometric results reveal that governance, public administration, and judicial accountability dominate scholarly discourse, highlighting the interdependence between justice systems and democratic governance. This study contributes to rule-of-law scholarship by offering an integrated analysis of civil and criminal justice as complementary governance mechanisms. Methodologically, it demonstrates the value of combining legal analysis with bibliometric mapping to generate macro-level insights relevant to judicial reform and public governance.
Analyzing political parties’ marketing manifestos for election 2024: a case study of Pakistan Muhammad Younus, Halimah Abdul Manaf, Achmad Nurmandi, Dyah Mutiarin, Andi Adawiah, et al. Cogent Social Sciences, 2026 This research aims to critically analyze the manifestos of major political parties for Pakistan’s 2024 general elections, providing insight to voters, policymakers, and stakeholders to support informed choices and constructive debate. Employing a qualitative methodology, this study applies thematic analysis and critical discourse analysis to investigate how parties structure economic, governance, social, and foreign policy issues. The manifestos are coded in various fields, including poverty alleviation, inflation control, global warming, national security, and intra-regional relations. It is with this systematic approach that patterns of recurrence, ideological leanings, and the practicability level of policy can be identified. The findings indicate that while manifestos differ in orientation—PPP subscribes to a model of welfare populism, PTI adopts a reformist populism, and PML-N specializes in developmentalism—they are unanimous in prioritizing short-term electioneering promises, such as subsidies and infrastructure promises, over observable long-term changes. There is a remarkable imbalance between rhetorical commitments and feasible implementation mechanisms across all parties, confirming the symbolic over programmatic character of manifestos in Pakistan’s politics. By positioning these observations within the lenses of populism theory, political marketing, and critical discourse analysis, the study explains how Pakistani manifestos are more likely to be instruments of symbolic marketing and voter mobilization than social compacts.
Implementing rule of law through open government: understanding concept with a scientometric analysis Ibrahim Miguel, Muhammad Younus, Rahmat Lallo, Julianingsi Takdir, Halimah Abdul Manaf, Andi Adawiah, Aqmal Reza Amri, Andi Luhur Prianto Frontiers in Political Science, 2026 Introduction Open government has gained prominence as a governance paradigm aimed at enhancing transparency, participation, and accountability; however, its conceptual relationship with the rule of law remains fragmented within existing scholarship. This study addresses this gap by systematically examining how academic discourse positions open government as a mechanism for strengthening rule-of-law outcomes. Methods A bibliometric and scientometric analysis was conducted on peer-reviewed publications indexed between 2014 and 2023. Bibliographic data were extracted and analysed using VOSViewer to generate keyword co-occurrence networks, citation relationships, and thematic clusters. The analysis follows a transparent and reproducible review protocol adapted from PRISMA guidelines. To contextualize the findings, the World Justice Project Rule of Law Index 2024 is used as an external reference for the Philippine governance environment. Results The results reveal several dominant thematic clusters, including transparency and accountability, citizen participation, digital governance, anti-corruption, and institutional capacity. Keyword and citation networks indicate that open government is most frequently conceptualized as an enabling mechanism for accountability and administrative transparency, while linkages to judicial effectiveness and enforcement remain comparatively underexplored. The Philippine context reflects moderate institutional openness alongside persistent weaknesses in corruption control and justice systems. Discussion/Conclusion This study contributes by clarifying the intellectual structure of open government and rule-of-law scholarship and highlighting conceptual gaps between openness and legal enforcement. The findings offer implications for governance research and inform policy discussions on strengthening rule-of-law outcomes through open government reforms.

Integrating Big Data Analytics and IoT Technologies for Enhanced Industrial Efficiency: A Comprehensive Mapping Study Muhammad Younus, Halimah Abdul Manaf, Achmad Nurmandi, Dyah Mutiarin, Andi Luhur Prianto, Imron Sohsan, Bambang Irawan, Zuly Qodir, Rijal Ramdani, Bilveer Singh, Dimas Zulkarnain Rosadi Energy Efficient Internet of Things Based Wireless Sensor Network, 2026 This study aims to analyze the role of IoT (Internet of Things) in the efficiency of an industry. The industrial market in Indonesia is proliferating, but problems arise due to the need for more efficiency in the production process. Industrial owners are often old-fashioned towards the times, leading to less competitive production results. The industrial internet of things (IIoT) uses intelligent devices like sensors and actuators to improve manufacturing and industrial processes. This combination of sensors and driving engines makes speed in determining business decisions more accurate, saving time, increasing production output, and creating an environmentally friendly industrial area. The term Industry 4.0 was coined for the first time at the Hannover Fair in 2011. This study used a bibliometric technique to analyze publications from the Scopus database from 2013 to 2022. It found that the number of publications on big data and this industry has increased in the last ten years, with the United States being the most powerful country in this area of research. The internet of things industry works through the exchange and collection of data, allowing industry owners to hold control and make decisions quickly. However, technical experts are needed to ensure the system runs smoothly.
Conceptualizing the access and usage of AI as a fundamental right for netizens Muhammad Younus, Halimah Abdul Manaf, Achmad Nurmandi, Andi Adawiah, Dyah Mutiarin, Eliza Meiyani, Titin Purwaningsih, Ulung Pribadi, Imron Sohsan, Andi Luhur Prianto, Sandi Lubis Artificial Intelligence Powered Electrical Machine Design Optimization Control and Innovation, 2026 In the 21st century, artificial intelligence (AI) has grown far beyond its technological origin to become a part and parcel of life today. It gives access to information, learning, communication, and participation in the social, economic, and political spheres. Acknowledging its pivotal position, this paper discusses the concept of AI access and use as a universal human right of netizens. Drawing on legal frameworks, human rights instruments, and philosophical grounds, the article argues that access to AI satisfies several conditions to qualify as an inherent right. It facilitates easier enjoyment of other inherent rights like free expression, access to information, and education. It also bestows power on individuals to engage effectively in civil life, economic activity, and accessing basic services. Nevertheless, the article identifies difficulties with this perspective. Issues of digital divides, internet censorship, and possible harm demand sophisticated solutions and preventive actions for providing equal and responsible access. The research explores ongoing controversies and initiatives in the regulation of AI, net neutrality, and digital literacy and underscores the need for multistakeholder cooperation to bridge the digital divide and produce a safe and open online society. Lastly, this paper aims to contribute to the AI rights debate by critically examining the justification for its establishment as a basic right and evaluating the challenges and possible solutions it poses. Through this research, the paper aims to encourage a future where all people will be able to utilize AI for personal and collective growth.
Applying the UMEGA model and nudge theory to analyze smart citizen participatory in decision-making Muhammad Younus, Halimah Abdul Manaf, Dyah Mutiarin, Achmad Nurmandi Discover Global Society, 2025 This research paper explores the concept of a Smart Citizen in the digital age, focusing on the UMEGA Model and the Nudge Approach. Smart citizens possess the necessary technological skills to make informed decisions in a smart country. The paper uses Smart-PLS software to analyze survey questionnaire feedback and proposes a long-term solution for smart citizens’ decision-making role in sustainability. The paper sets out to prove that of the UMEGA factors, motivation and social influence play the most important role in determining active citizen involvement, while perceived risks provide strong concerns capable of discouraging participation. Surprisingly, effort expectancy and empowerment also play important roles, but to a lesser degree. The study shows that low-key interventions such as reframing and taking advantage of social norms are effective in influencing the existence of citizens without undermining autonomy. These findings suggest that policymakers need to prioritize the establishment of social influence mechanisms and minimize perceived risks to try to build a more inclusive and sustainable city government. A smart citizen will play a crucial role in adopting sustainable growth, with technology as a catalyst for creating a Smart Citizen. The research paper provides a framework for conceptualizing a Smart Citizen Decision Making role, aiding policymakers and researchers in developing future strategies.
