Fabrication, structural and magnetic properties of aluminium substituted Fe3O4 nanoparticles routed through the auto-combustion Paramesh Donta, Srinivas Voora, Janardhan Eppakayala, Maheshwar Reddy Mettu Materials Science and Technology United Kingdom, 2026 The nanocrystalline ferrite samples of Fe (3−x) Al x O 4 with (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0) were synthesized by using auto-combustion technique. The spinel cubic structure with no impurity markings was determined by X-ray diffraction and the lattice constants ranged from 8.398 Å to 8.359 Å. The crystallite sizes, which range from 32.15 nm to 21.38 nm with aluminum, indicate nano-size formation. Micrographs obtained with a FESEM demonstrate that the particles are uniformly distributed and nanoscale in size. Energy dispersive spectral analysis identified the composition of all fundamental elements. Two fundamentally distinct absorption bands, ν 1 and ν 2 , were seen in the FTIR spectra from 600 cm −1 to 404 cm −1 . The VSM experiments were conducted at room temperature and noticed a decrease in saturation magnetization, coercivity and remanent magnetization with aluminum.
Structural, morphological and optical evaluation of organic compounds for interface optimization in perovskite solar cells Shashikala Kethireddy, Kalyani Chilamakuri, Laxminarayan Eppakayala, Maheshwar Reddy Mettu, Janardhan Eppakayala Functional Materials Letters, 2025 A series of organic compounds (a) methyl 3-nitro-2-methoxybenzoate, (b) 2,4-dibromoaniline, (c) 2,4-dimethylbenzoic acid, and (d) 5-phenylpentanoic acid, available in certain research laboratories, were systematically studied for their potential application in organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells. To evaluate their suitability as additive or Self Assembled Mono layer (SAM as HTL), the compounds were characterized using multiple analytical techniques such as X-ray Powder Diffraction (XRD) to determine crystalline structure, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy to study functional group interactions and the presence of hydrogen bond, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to analyze surface morphology, and UV–Visible spectroscopy to evaluate optical properties such as absorption, refractive index, band gap energy and optical conductivity. The results obtained from these analyses were used to assess the compatibility of the compounds with perovskite materials, particularly their ability to improve film morphology, enhance interfacial interactions, and contribute to the overall stability and efficiency of perovskite solar cell devices.
Enhancing structural, thermal, and electrical properties of plasticized lithium-based PVdF-HFP polymer electrolytes for flexible energy storage applications Merhawi Abreha Gebreyesus, Maheshwar Reddy Mettu, Anna Mallikarjun, Sangeetha Mahendrakar, J. Siva Kumar Functional Materials Letters, 2025 Lithium ion-conducting plasticized polymer electrolyte membranes were prepared using poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP) as the host polymer, lithium triflate (LiTf) as the dopant salt, and ethylene carbonate (EC) as the plasticizer, with varying compositions accomplished using the solution casting technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analyses validate the presence of substantial structural alterations and the formation of a complex in the plasticized polymer electrolytes. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis demonstrates an increase in ionic conductivity by about two orders of magnitude after the addition of EC. Estimates of ionic transference numbers derived from the direct current (DC) polarization approach indicate that charge transport in plasticized polymer electrolytes is mostly ionic. We examined the discharge characteristics of our flexible electrochemical storage device (FESD) over 25 h. The mean discharge current is 1.4 mA with a 0.04 C rating.
