  • Automated system for assessing the structure of a dairy cattle herd
Sergei Titovskii, Natalia Titovskaia, Tatyana Titovskaya, and Elena Alekseeva

    EDP Sciences
The article describes a model of an information system for assessing and forming the structure of a dairy cattle herd. Based on a brief description of this task, a logical model of a relational database is built using predefined SQL data types. Based on object-oriented modeling, a system behavior model is developed, presented in the form of a UML diagram of use cases and sequence diagrams. The option of using this model in the form of a local information system and the possibility of its integration with existing software systems is considered. The correctness of the model is confirmed by the developed local information system of the aforementioned assessment of the herd structure.

  • Cow productivity index depending on their linearity
    E A Alekseeva and E V Chetvertakova

    IOP Publishing
Abstract The studies were carried out in “Tubinsk” JSC, Krasnoturansky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Red-and-white cows of Reflection Sovereign 198998, Vis Back Ideal 1013415, Pabst Governor 882993, Rosafe Sition 267150, Siling Trijun Rokit 252803 lines were taken as the object of the study. Milk productivity was taken into account and productivity index was calculated. It was identified that the cow index of productivity on the farm should be 1,200 and higher. However, the desired result was not achieved. According to the first lactation, the indicators of bulls’ daughters of lines R. Sovereign and P. Governor were most consistent with this value - 1.007 and 1.033, respectively. By the third lactation, the daughters of lines R. Sovereign and V.B. Ideal approached the desired value - 1.008 and 1.077, respectively. Cows of different lines with high milk production more often left the herd, which may indicate a low adaptive ability to technologies. The daughters of line R. Sovereign showed the highest milk productivity (P≥0.95), the mass fraction of fat in milk was higher in the daughters of the P. Governor line (P≥0.999), the mass fraction of protein was higher in the daughters of R.Sition (P≥0.999). Dairy cattle breeding at “Tubinsk” JSC appears to be profitable. The level of profitability depends on milk productivity and makes 61.9% in the daughters of R. Sovereign and 65.3% in P. Governors, respectively. To improve milk productivity and its quality indicators off-springs of bulls-producers of R. Sovereign and P. Governors lines should be used, as well as breeding to increase the adaptability to technology.

  • Influence of the genotype of breeding bulls on the quality of sperm production
    E V Chetvertakova and E A Alekseeva

    IOP Publishing
Abstract The article presents the studies carried out at JSC “Krasnoyarskagroplem” during 2012-2015 years. The object of research is breeding-bulls of red-mottled and Holstein breeds and their sperm production. We compared two groups of bulls, a red-mottled breed (n = 18 heads) and the Holstein red-and-white suit (n = 18 heads) at the age of 24.3 months at the beginning of the study. The quality of sperm production was evaluated in accordance with the current GOST 23745-79 “Undiluted freshly obtained sperm of breeding bulls”. The fertilizing ability of sperm was evaluated by the insemination index. The authors revealed the dependence of the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the seed on the breed of bulls. The period of bull’s sexual functions formation of the Holstein breed ends at the age of four. The period of bull’s sexual functions formation of the red-mottled breed ends at the age of five. The insemination index of red-mottled bulls is on average 1.3, in Holstein bulls it is 1.7. It confirms that the quality of the sperm is good. Breeding bulls with a low insemination index were identified, e.g., Discont 29590 of the red-mottled breed has index of 2.4, Kozir 1676 and Snaiper 1802 of Holstein breed have indexes of 3.9 and 6.03, respectively.

  • Production typicality of cows depending on their linear affiliation
    E A Alekseeva

    IOP Publishing
Abstract The dependence of production typicality of cows on their linear in JSC “Tubinsk” of Krasnoyarsk region was studied. The coefficient of production typicity of first-lactation cows averaged 3.71. Descendants of Reflection Sovereign 198998 line and the Pabst Governor line referred to the high-milk type. The milk productivity of the daughters of the Reflection Sovereign 198998 line bulls is 3 % higher than the average. The largest mass fraction of fat in milk of the cows of the Pabst Governor line was 4.35 %. The indicators of cows of other lines were from 4.14 % to 4.20 %. The average mass fraction of protein in milk was 3.16 %, the cows of the Roseif Citation 267150 line had the indicator of 3.23 %, of the Pabst Governor line – of 3.21 %. The daughters of the Sure-View Auburn 133893605 bull of the Reflection Sovereign 198998 line marked the highest milk productivity of 7318 kg, the daughters of the Topaz 1239 bull of the Pabst Governor 882933 line marked the lowest milk productivity of 4783 kg. The mass fraction of fat in milk is the highest by the daughters of the Venets 3216 bull of the Pabst Governor line (4.40 %). The lowest fat content had the daughters of the Vympel 2234 bull of the Vice Back Ideal 1013415 line (3.85 %) and the Repey 9927 bull of the Roseif Citation 267150 line (3.99 %). The Rhythm 417329 bull of the Roseif Citation 267150 line has the highest protein mass of 3.31 %. The protein milk content of other bulls-producers varied from 3.25 % to 3.10 %. The profitability of production will be up to 65.3 % when converted to basic fat content (3.4 %).

  • Assessment of cows of Yenisei intra-breed type of red-mottled breed on a complex of signs
    E A Alekseeva and I Yu Eremina

    IOP Publishing
Abstract The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of cows of the Yenisei inbreeding type of red-mottled breed. The paper studies the level of milk productivity in groups with different values of the production typicality coefficient and the relationship between the genotype and production typicality coefficient. It was established that the coefficient of production typicality can be used to predict productivity, optimize selection and create a model group of cows. The data obtained allowed us to determine the basic requirements for cows of the desired production types: average milk yield of 6487 ± 2020 kg of milk per 305 days of lactation in first-calf heifers and 7891 ± 419 kg in cows of the third lactation and older; live weight - for first-calf heifers 543-574 kg, adults - 616-684 kg. The formation of the herd should be carried out by animals of the desired production types, which will contribute to the creation of highly productive livestock and increase the efficiency of selection and breeding work to improve breeding and productive qualities. When creating a group of animals of the desired types, including for genomic selection, it is possible not to take into account the origin of the animals.
