This study investigates the process of selecting filtering methods for the corresponding images of road defects, provided that the textures and edges of the depicted damage are maximally preserved. The results are aimed at solving the task of ensuring the overall quality of pre-processing of defect images by selecting an effective filter corresponding to the type of depicted road defect. An approach to selecting filtering methods for the corresponding images of road defects has been devised. Compared to conventional approaches, which are usually based on only one criterion, the devised approach is based on multi-criteria selection of an effective method. The approach algorithm combines the evaluation of the filtering results by the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and the visual evaluation method based on established criteria. This is explained by the fact that the multi-criteria filter selection method produces a better integrated result compared to conventional ones as evidenced by the results of experimental testing. In particular, the practical implementation of the approach in the Python programming language (USA) and its testing based on images of 5 types of linear and planar damage types has been carried out. Based on the results of testing, it was found that the PSNR of the results of processing images of longitudinal cracks with a nonlocal averaged filter is 15.26% higher than when using the Gaussian filter, which is proposed in other studies. The PSNR of the results of processing images of potholes with a bilinear filter is 15.5% higher than when using the Gaussian filter. Such results indicate the possibility of effective application of these filters in practice for rapid pre-processing of large arrays of images of such defects

This paper reports a study of the cement-concrete coating on bridges using FRP reinforcement. That has made it possible to design optimal structures by selecting the height for reinforcement arrangement in the layers of a roadbed in order to ensure strength characteristics. An engineering method for calculating a hard roadbed with composite reinforcement has been devised, which makes it possible to take into consideration its work both in a joint package of the structure with a slab and separately – when it exfoliates from the slab of the bridge's span structure. Underlying this research are effort-determining methods, estimation dependences from the theory of bending layered structures, as well as dependences from elasticity theory to assess the strength of materials for a roadbed. The consideration of shear strains when designing slabs has helped establish that the deflections according to the devises method were 1.4 times larger than those in the classical approach. The method was tested by a numerical experiment, which confirmed the need to use composite reinforcement in the upper layers of a road surface on bridges, which improves its durability by 1.2 times. The results of the numerical experiment indicate that the equivalent stresses in the lower layers of a free-moving roadbed were 2.91 MPa, and, when operating in a joint assembly with a slab, they took a negative value (–0.2 MPa). Practical application of the devised calculation method makes it possible to determine the refined normal stresses in the layers of a roadbed, taking into consideration the characteristics of structure operation. Owing to this, additional opportunities open up for calculating the roadbeds of bridges whose design utilizes the most common types of span structures in the bridge industry.

The paper deal with researching the possibility of applying polarimetric technologies for increasing the sensitivity and accuracy of object's attitude sensing. The article considers the existing methods for determining the object`s attitude sensing and systems that implement them. In addition, the polarimetric principle of determining the direction to the source of polarized radiation and the device that implements it is proposed in the article. The article presents the results of the mathematical modeling of proposed system's work.

Optimization of structures of information management systems is determined by the choice of such a functional structure that would ensure high reliability of information. When creating complex systems, there is the problem of ensuring high operational reliability of connection of a large number of separate elements into a single monolithic highly efficient information system. This problem is effectively solved by combining the elements of the system of controlled information sensors by means of nested modules. The mathematical model of parallel information redundancy based on polynomial distribution is developed. This model allows exploring the probability states of the fire alarm system, consisting of n parallel-connected identical sensors. As the state of the fire alarm system, indicators such as probabilities of correct detection, non-detection and false alarm are considered. On the basis of the proposed model, mathematical dependencies of the basic modules М 2,3 , М 2,4 are obtained, taking into account the majority factor, and accordingly schematic diagrams of these modules on logic gates are developed. Mathematical dependences for the first ( N 6,9 , N 12,24 ) and second ( L 18,27 , L 48,96 ) hierarchies of connection of fire alarm system sensors, implementing the majority rule «m-out-of-n», taking into account their hierarchy are obtained. The generalized mathematical formulas for determining the number of logic AND gates in each specific structural circuit for nested modules of the first and second hierarchies, as well as the mathematical formula for n hierarchies, are proposed. Mathematical dependencies of the total economic gain, which consists in reducing the number of AND circuits for implementing the majority rule «m-out-of-n» using nested modules, are obtained. It is advisable to introduce structures of fire alarm systems on the basis of nested modules into production, as the reliability of information increases even with low reliability characteristics of the sensors
