Novel Two Dimensional Chaotic Map for Secure Image Communication Sakshi Patel, Thanikaiselvan V Vitecon 2023 2nd IEEE International Conference on Vision Towards Emerging Trends in Communication and Networking Technologies Proceedings, 2023 In present era of fast multimedia communication, there are many loop holes where the security is compromised. We have developed a new two-dimensional chaotic map for secure multimedia communication in this research. The generated two dimensional triangle function combined discrete chaotic map (2D-TFCDM) is rigorously studied and tested. The various randomness test applied on the novel map are: National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) test suite, attractor plot, sensitivity test, bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponent. Generated map is utilized in image encryption, where it is combined with hash functions for better security. The generated map passes all the tests and demonstrates that the novel discrete system is extremely chaotic and can be used for cryptography applications. Simulation results obtained from the proposed methodology is compared with the existing techniques that show the extreme chaotic nature of the proposed system.
Image Encryption Using a Spectrally Efficient Halton Logistics Tent (HaLT) Map and DNA Encoding for Secured Image Communication Sakshi Patel, Thanikaiselvan Veeramalai Entropy, 2022 With the advancement of technology worldwide, security is essential for online information and data. This research work proposes a novel image encryption method based on combined chaotic maps, Halton sequence, five-dimension (5D) Hyper-Chaotic System and Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) encoding. Halton sequence is a known low-discrepancy sequence having uniform distribution in space for application in numerical methods. In the proposed work, we derived a new chaotic map (HaLT map) by combining chaotic maps and Halton sequence to scramble images for cryptography applications. First level scrambling was done by using the HaLT map along with a modified quantization unit. In addition, the scrambled image underwent inter- and intra-bit scrambling for enhanced security. Hash values of the original and scrambled image were used for initial conditions to generate a 5D hyper-chaotic map. Since a 5D chaotic map has complex dynamic behavior, it could be used to generate random sequences for image diffusion. Further, DNA level permutation and pixel diffusion was applied. Seven DNA operators, i.e., ADD, SUB, MUL, XOR, XNOR, Right-Shift and Left-Shift, were used for pixel diffusion. The simulation results showed that the proposed image encryption method was fast and provided better encryption compared to ‘state of the art’ techniques. Furthermore, it resisted various attacks.
New Image Encryption Algorithm based on Pixel Confusion-Diffusion using Hash Functions and Chaotic Map Sakshi Patel, Thanikaiselvan V 7th International Conference on Communication and Electronics Systems Icces 2022 Proceedings, 2022 Information privacy and security has become a necessity in the rapid growth of computer technology. A new algorithm for image encryption is proposed in this paper; using hash functions, chaotic map and two levels of diffusion process. The initialization key for chaos map is generated with the help of two hash functions. The initial seed for these hash functions is the sum of rows, columns and pixels across the diagonal of the plain image. Firstly, the image is scrambled using quantization unit. In the first level of diffusion process, the pixel values of the scrambled image are XOR with the normalized chaotic map. Odd pixel value is XOR with an even bit of chaotic map and even pixel is XOR with an odd bit of chaotic map. To achieve strong encryption, the image undergoes a second level of diffusion process where it is XOR with the map a finite number of times. After every round, the pixel array is circular shifted three times to achieve a strong encrypted image. The experimental and comparative analysis done with state of the art techniques on the proposed image encryption algorithm shows that it is strong enough to resist statistical and differential attacks present in the communication channel.
Brain tumor detection and classification based on histogram equalization using machine learning Naralasetty Niharika, Sakshi Patel, Bharath K. P., Balaji Subramanian, Rajesh Kumar M. Handbook of Research on Deep Learning Based Image Analysis Under Constrained and Unconstrained Environments, 2020 Brain tumor is a hazardous disease. It has to be treated rightly because the patient cannot survive for even a year. This research work is to design a mechanized system that discerns benign and malignant tumor images and improves the classification accuracy. In this system, histogram equalization is used to raise the intensity of tumor so that it can be detected more precisely. In the projected system, segmentation is performed by k-means clustering and Gaussian mixture model (GMM). Along with them, the authors are extracting the features from discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and feature reduction from principal component analysis (PCA). The classifiers support vector machine (SVM) and artificial neural networks (ANN) are used to classify benign and malignant tumor from brain images.
Secured Data Transmission through Dual Domain Reversible Data Hiding and Encryption in Images V. Thanikaiselvan, Sakshi Patel, S. Sivanantham Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Inventive Computation Technologies Icict 2020, 2020 Communication of images has become very easy and frequent due to popularity of internet. But this fast moving world is prone to various threats from unauthorized users. To protect images and maintain privacy of data many data hiding and encryption techniques are developed. In this paper, a novel reversible 2-stage data hiding algorithm with chaotic based encryption using DNA encoding is proposed. Firstly, Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) is applied on cover image to convert it from spatial to transform domain. Then, 1st level of data hiding is carried out using threshold based histogram shifting algorithm. Resultant image is interpolated to double of its size and second level of data hiding is done using adaptive prediction error expansion. This stego image is scrambled using chaotic logistic map, result is then DNA encoded using complementary rules. The encoded image is then XOR with a key image generated using hash function and chaotic map. Finally, encrypted image is obtained by DNA decoding the image. Simulation results obtained show the algorithm gives good embedding capacity; also the encrypted images are validated against key sensitivity, statistical and differential attacks
