Dr. Sanjiv Kumar Jain is working as an Assistant Professor (SG) in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Medi-Caps University, Indore, India. He received his ME from the SGSITS, Indore, MP, India in 2008 and BE in Electrical Engineering from RGPV, Bhopal, MP, India in 2000. He completed his PhD from the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal, India. He has qualified GATE in 2006. He received Best Teaching Award and Best Project Mentor Award at university level. He has published more than 25 SCI/ SCOPUS/ Conference articles.

A novel approach for Volt-VAR optimization in Radial Distribution System Using Modified Tuna Swarm Optimization Deepak Porwal, Sanjiv Kumar Jain, Ashish Kumar Soni, Manoj Fozdar, Rajive Tiwari International Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications, 2026 Distributed Generation integrated with Volt-VArOptimization(VVO) is crucial for dependable and cost-effectivedistribution grid operations. Energy management strategies areessential to ensure demand, enhance system performance, andguarantee the proper operation of renewable energy-based hybridsystems. In recent years, DG has rapidly gained recognition for itspotential to optimize power demands. This work proposes theModified Tuna Swarm Optimization (MTSO) based swarmintelligence technique to redesign the Radial Distribution network(RDN) for voltage profile improvement and power lossesreduction. With 0.9742 p.u. voltage, the proposed MTSO hassuccessfully reduced active and reactive power losses to 105.47kWand 88.25kVAr, respectively in 33-bus system. With 0.9913p.u.voltage, the suggested MTSO reduced the 69-bus's active andreactive power losses to 68.47kW and 47.25kVAr, respectively.
Optimizing Load frequency control of multiple areas power system using HGAGOA integrating with renewable energy and SMES effect Harendra K. Pushpat, Sanjiv Kumar Jain Journal of Integrated Science and Technology, 2025 Load frequency control (LFC) is pivotal in maintaining grid stability, particularly with the growing integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into power systems. This paper presents a novel approach for multi-area based LFC incorporating RES, utilizing a sophisticated metaheuristic optimization technique. By integrating various energy sources, including conventional thermal units and variable RES like wind and solar, and considering multi-area coordination and forecasting models, the proposed methodology dynamically adjusts control parameters to optimize LFC performance. The results indicate that Hybrid Genetic and Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (HGAGOA) is the most effective algorithm for minimizing the objective function in only 10 iterations, followed by Genetic Algorithm (GA) with 40 iterations and then Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm (GOA) with greater than 50 iterations. By integrating the complementary strengths of GA and GOA, HGAGOA offers enhanced convergence and improved solution quality, making it a preferred choice for optimization tasks demanding rapid and reliable convergence. Hence, the HGAGOA outperforms the GOA and GA in both objective functions, change in frequency deviation and power deviation. This framework offers a promising avenue for sustainable and reliable power system operation, with potential applications in real-time implementation and integration with advanced grid management systems for further improvements in performance and resilience.
Techno-economic Evaluation of Renewable Energy Microgrids for EV Charging Applications Preeti Singh, Sanjiv Kumar Jain Journal of Environmental Nanotechnology, 2025 This research performs an economic and technological assessment of a renewable energy system optimized by Self adaptive grey wolf optimizer (SA-GWO) which enables sustainable EV charging in microgrids. While reducing the cost of operations and hence carbon emissions from EV charging infrastructure, the combination of solar panels and wind turbines with storage units helps lessen the reliance on the primary power grid. Optimal system architecture consists of renewable energy component sizes together with storage facilities and energy management systems to enable sustainable, dependable and affordable EV charging. Operating inside an optimized framework, the SA-GWO controls optimization parameters to enable suitable exploitation-exploration balances that produce optimal solutions for reducing system energy losses while minimizing operational expenses, thus maximizing system reliability. Technical needs for operational effectiveness and logistical dependability as well as financial concerns (including capital expenses, maintenance costs and financial returns) are handled by this optimizing system. In this study, SA-GWO was used to achieve microgrid design goals with improved energy system efficiency, environmental responsibility, economic sustainability and grid independence. In future transportation systems, SA-GWO will be a useful tool for both environmental sustainability and expansion of EV market. This paper combines the ideas of renewable energy-based microgrid, battery-powered automobile charging and SA-GWO with energy storage systems.
