This research will examine the portrait of the marginalization of local religions in the Archipelago and its impact on individuals and the face of identity politics in Indonesia in the study of Ahmad Gaus's Poetry Essay Space (2025): ‘Those who are marginalized in their own country’ as a form of cross-cultural religious communication through essay poetry. Essay Poetry is a form of literary work that combines elements of poetry and essay. In a poetic essay, the writer often expresses ideas or concepts in depth, using poetic language, while still containing longer thoughts, reflections, or analyses like in an essay. In the pluralistic context of Indonesia, local religions such as Marapu (East Nusa Tenggara), Naurus Nuaulu (Maluku), Malesung (North Sulawesi), Aluk Todolo and To Lotang (South Sulawesi), Parmalim (North Sumatra), Pambi (Aceh), Sunda Wiwitan and Budi Daya (West Java), Aliran Perjalanan (Jakarta), and Kaharingan (Kalimantan) are often marginalized by the dominance of major re
