  • Digital Transformation and Investment Dynamics of Transport Enterprises: A Comparative Analysis of BRICS, Germany, and Ukraine

    This research paper examines the nexus between digital transformation and investment activity across a diverse economic spectrum, encompassing the rapid growth of the BRICS bloc, the advanced industrial framework of Germany, and the resilient, IT-driven economy of Ukraine. As global logistics networks shift toward "Industry 4.0" standards, the traditional investment model, historically focused on physical fleet expansion, is being restructured to prioritize digital infrastructure, AI-driven logistics, and Big Data analytics. Utilizing a structural-analytical framework, this research evaluates how these digital investments enhance the financial sustainability of transport firms by optimizing asset utilization and reducing operational risks. The findings demonstrate that digital transformation acts as a catalyst for institutional change, enabling firms to achieve higher capital productivity and long-term economic resilience. In the context of transitional markets, the shift toward digitalized investment activity serves to mitigate macroeconomic vulnerabilities by lowering logistics costs and improving regional trade integration. The study concludes that for transport enterprises, digital-led structural reforms are not merely technological upgrades but are essential strategies for ensuring fiscal stability and competitive advantage in an increasingly volatile global economy. Practical recommendations for managers and policymakers focus on balancing CAPEX between physical assets and digital innovation to ensure sustainable growth.Copyright© 2026 The Author(s).   • THE IMPACT OF INDUSTRY 4.0 ON THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF MANUFACTURING ENTERPRISES IN UKRAINE

    Purpose. To study the impact of Industry 4.0 on the current state of the digital transformation of the state’s industry and to substantiate promising directions of development. Methodology. The study used a systematic and comparative analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current state of digital transformation of industry in Ukraine. Research on the impact of Industry 4.0 on digital transformation was based on the results of a statistical analysis of the effect and the potential annual effect of the introduction of the Internet of Things on industrial and construction sites. Also, the method of deduction, logical research, and a graphical way of presenting information were used to demonstrate the significant results of the study. Findings. In the process of research, the digital transformation of industry under the influence of Industry 4.0, which is accelerating, was considered. It has been proven that the digital transformation of Ukrainian enterprises must be carried out at several levels: in terms of industrial equipment, IT systems and internal business processes. Originality. The influence of Industry 4.0 on the digital transformation of industry in Ukraine is substantiated. Eight main levers of value creation due to the implementation of “Industry 4.0” technologies in production are highlighted: optimization of equipment operation modes; optimization of equipment loading; increasing productivity and labor safety; logistic optimization; improvement of product quality; improvement in demand forecasting; shortening the terms of bringing products to the market; improvement of after sales service. Recommendations were given to enterprises regarding the formation of industry partnerships for joint financing of projects, risk reduction, interaction with state bodies, technological companies and research centers, within which expert consulting centers are to be created. Practical value. The results of the research can be used by economists, scientists and practitioners for the development of further perspectives. Establishing strong horizontal ties with educational and research organizations, high-tech companies, as well as with public administration bodies will allow effective exchange of experience, development of joint innovative digital solutions, products and standards for a particular industry, adaptation of educational programs and development of skills in the application of digital technologies.
  • IMPACT OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ON BUSINESS STRUCTURES

    Purpose. To study the impact of digital transformation on business structures and to substantiate prospective directions of development. Methodology. During the research, the authors used a systematic and comparative analysis to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the current state of digital transformation of Ukrainian business structures. Besides, such scientific methods as the method of deduction, logical research and the graphical way of presenting information were used to demonstrate the significant results of the research topic. Findings. In the process of the research, the digital transformation of manufacturing enterprises was considered. It has been proven that the digital transformation of Ukrainian enterprises must be carried out in various sectors of the economy. Leaders of the mining, processing and transport industries are recommended to determine the most promising areas of using “Industry 4.0” technologies from the point of view of increasing the efficiency of their business. On the basis of this they should develop long-term strategies for the digitalization of their enterprises, taking into account the specifics of their industries. In addition, enterprises can contribute to the development of corporate venture funds, business incubators and digital factories, which will help support innovative startups and accelerate their development. It is also possible to organize technological competitions at the national and international levels to draw attention to domestic technological developments and promote them to the world market. Originality. The impact of digital transformation of business structures in Ukraine is substantiated. A study on the vision of the concept of digital transformation, effective ways of involving innovation in development and transformation in Ukraine and in the countries of the European Union was conducted, and conclusions were drawn that the concentration of resources and the development of common standards will help to overcome the lag. Business structures are invited to enter into strategic partnerships or to create consortia in order to jointly develop innovations in terms of standards and solutions. In addition, it is recommended to establish infrastructure sharing and implement training programs. It is also important that market participants interact with government agencies, educational and research institutions in the field of development and implementation of new digital technologies. Practical value. The results of the conducted research have the potential to be used by economists, scientists and practitioners in order to develop further perspectives. This data can be used to analyze and understand current trends in the field of digital technologies, which will create a knowledge base for the development of new strategies and solutions. In general, the interaction between enterprises, educational and research organizations and government authorities in the field of digital technologies has great potential to promote the development of innovation, increase the efficiency and competitiveness of enterprises.
