  • Enabling routines for green innovation: Strategic management processes, entrepreneurial motivation, creativity, and work performance in Indonesian SMEs
Wardhani Hakim, Fakhrul Indra Hermansyah, Haeriah Hakim, Andriyansah, Alif Razaq Aryadi, et al.
Problems and Perspectives in Management, 2026
Type of the article: Research ArticleAbstractThis study investigates how entrepreneurial motivation and the strategic management process, conceptualized as enabling routines, shape organizational creativity and green innovation, and how green innovation relates to employee performance in resource-constrained Indonesian SMEs. In 2025, an online survey targeted SME owners and managers with decision authority for strategy, innovation, or human resources across nine Indonesian cities. Invitations were sent to 1,300 SMEs, 412 responses were received (31.7%), and 377 usable cases remained after screening. PLS-SEM (5,000 bootstrap resamples) indicates that strategic management process predicts organizational creativity (β = 0.682, p < 0.001), which predicts green innovation (β = 0.288, p < 0.001) and, in turn, employee performance (β = 0.574, p < 0.001). Entrepreneurial motivation negatively predicts organizational creativity (β = −0.084, p = 0.003). Mediation tests confirm a positive serial indirect effect from strategic management process to employee performance via creativity and green innovation (β = 0.113, p = 0.001) and a negative serial indirect effect for entrepreneurial motivation via the same pathway (β = −0.014, p = 0.007). The model integrates dynamic capabilities and self-determination perspectives by positioning organizational creativity as the microfoundational mechanism. The results imply that disciplined strategic routines provide an enabling infrastructure for creativity-based green implementation, whereas pressure-oriented motivation can undermine the creative engagement required for sustainability change. The evidence is limited by cross-sectional, self-reported data from one country, and future research should employ longitudinal and multi-source designs.AcknowledgmentWe declare that this paper did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors. • Organizational Agility Based on Automatic Patch Work Behavior in the Era of Environmental Uncertainty
Ahmad Gunawan, Abdul Rahman Rahim, Andriyansah Andriyansah, Fatia Fatimah
Journal of Applied Science Engineering Technology and Education, 2025
This study focuses on modeling organizational agility based on a synthetic construct, namely automatic patch work behavior, which is proposed, conceptualized, and confirmed by theoretical validation, empirical validation, and nomological validation. The research model involved 219 respondents from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) employees in West Sulawesi Province through cluster sampling techniques accompanied by eligible control of inclusion and exclusion samples, data were obtained using an e-questionnaire in December 2024. Structural equation modeling analysis confirmed that this study was able to present theoretical contributions in the field of strategic human resource management by positioning automatic patch work behavior as a new and meaningful entity and impacting that automatic patch work behavior allows for linking work behavior to organizational agility in an era of environmental uncertainty. Practical implications were identified through the ability of automatic patch work behavior directly or through the mediation of employees' dynamic capabilities and employee agility to encourage increased organizational agility. The locus of this research was conducted in government agencies, but this research model can also be replicated in business companies, so that employee characteristics (including automatic patch work behavior) in various workplaces in their contribution to organizational sustainability (including organizational agility) can be confirmed more comprehensively and represented, and equipped with ideas and research models that are always updated.
  • Exploring Sustainable Tourism Resources to Realise Ergo Green Tourism in Indonesia

    Aptisi Transactions on Technopreneurship, 2025
This research examines sustainable tourism in Indonesia, focusing on Ergo Green Tourism, a model that integrates ergonomic principles with green tourism. With the tourism sector significant economic contribution, there is a growing need for a model that balances environmental sustainability with tourist comfort. The research aims to evaluate the Ergo Green Tourism model by analyzing the relationships between Environmental Green Knowledge, Green Marketing, and Environmental Protection in promoting sustainability and improving tourism performance in Indonesia. A quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed. Data was gathered from MSMEs in key Indonesian tourist destinations through structured questionnaires and in-depth interviews, combining both quantitative and qualitative insights. The findings show that environmental protection and environmental knowledge positively influence green marketing, Ergo Green Tourism, and sustainability. Furthermore, green marketing significantly enhances the development of Ergo Green Tourism. This research highlights the importance of integrating green and ergonomic practices into tourism. It provides actionable insights for stakeholders, including MSMEs and policymakers, and suggests further research to refine the model and assess its long-term impact across different regions in Indonesia.
  • Product Values in the Digital Era and the Quest for Sustainable Competitive Advantage: A Bibliometric Mapping of Trends
    Andriyansah Andriyansah, Nika Saputra
International Review of Management and Marketing, 2025
Digital transformation is reshaping how organizations create product value and sustain competitive advantage, with technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain playing a pivotal role. However, few studies integrate the concepts of product value and competitive advantage within a digital framework. This study uses a bibliometric approach aligned with PRISMA guidelines to explore shifts in academic discussions on product value and sustainable competitive positioning in the digital age. Data from the Scopus database (2014-2024) were analyzed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny R software to identify key research themes and trends. Findings reveal a gap in research that holistically addresses product value dimensions, even though digital technologies have significant impacts. Sustainability is a key theme, yet its integration with digital technologies for sustainable product development is underexplored. This study highlights the need for greater integration of digital technologies and sustainability principles to enhance product value and ensure long-term competitive advantage. It contributes to the field by offering a bibliometric overview of current research trajectories and suggesting future research directions.
  • Cross-Cultural Adoption of Gamified Attendance Systems: Opportunities and Challenges for Multinational Enterprises
Untung Rahardja, Andriyansah Andriyansah, Elisa Ananda Natalia, Marviola Hardini, Dwi Julianingsih
International Journal of Engineering Science and Information Technology, 2025
The increasing adoption of gamified systems in workplace settings has garnered significant attention, particularly in multinational enterprises (MNEs) seeking innovative approaches to enhance team member engagement and productivity. Background Gamified attendance systems, integrating game elements such as points, leaderboards, and rewards, present a novel strategy for improving attendance and punctuality across diverse cultural contexts. However, implementing such systems in cross-cultural settings poses unique challenges and opportunities. Objective: This study explores the factors influencing the adoption of gamified attendance systems in MNEs, focusing on cross-cultural adaptability and its implications for organisational performance. Research Method A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative interviews with HR managers and employees from diverse cultural backgrounds with a quantitative survey targeting 350 employees across 10 MNEs. Data were analysed using thematic analysis and structural equation modelling to identify cultural and organisational determinants of success. Results The findings reveal that cultural dimensions, such as power distance and individualism, significantly impact team member perceptions and engagement with gamified systems. While gamification enhanced attendance rates and morale in low-power-distance cultures, it faced resistance in high-power-distance environments. Additionally, alignment with organisational goals and transparent communication were critical for successful implementation. Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of cultural sensitivity and strategic planning in the cross-cultural adoption of gamified attendance systems. By addressing these factors, MNEs can leverage gamification to foster a more engaged and productive workforce, enhancing global operational efficiency. Future research should explore longitudinal impacts and sector-specific adaptations to optimise implementation outcomes.
